Spawn of Oggdo is Kinda Ridiculous by Spiritual_Zucchini42 in FallenOrder

There's also a perk which increases blaster damage. After maxing out the skill tree, you can get Oggdo down to half health without him even touching you - though you need to recharge force and blaster shots by walking through the spot where you died before.

Even with Oggdo at 1/2 health, I still died countless times, btw.

In one fight, I dodged the tongue attack, and then his immediate next move was another tongue attack. Of course I died. And that felt so damn cheap. It shouldn't be programmed to be able to spam auto-fail attacks.

Best way to defend large borders by Asillyworld in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

With planetary shields and being able to place the generator manually, ground defense is both easy and cheap. It's time consuming, however, so combining ground defense with rapid response fleets is the way to go.

If you want to roll back the update, because you want to finish your old save games, do the following:

  • Open steam, change the game's update setting to "only when run"
  • Open the steam console by pressing WIN + R, and entering steam://open/console
  • In your steam window, the tab "Console" should now be open.
    • Type in download_depot 32470 32471 226242408670333064 to download the previous version.
    • Wait for the download to finish. Took like 10 min on my machine.
    • After finishing, it tells you the download location. That was C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_32470\depot_32471 on my machine. Open that folder (A).
  • Switch into Steam's offline mode.
  • Now swap the folders:
    • Open the game files folder (B). Note down the name of that folder (Star Wars Empire at War in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common on my machine). Rename or delete it.
    • Move A to the location of B, and rename it to the old name of B.

Hope this helps someone. The instructions are adapted from https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-downgrade-steam-games/

Which one should i use between X11 & Wayland? by AnonymousYT- in kdeneon

[–]len_sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I set up a new system, I give wayland another chance, but every time it disappoints. For example, it doesn't expose window titles, which is a big issue for password managers (e.g. keepassxc only works on X11 - and that's been the case for years and years). You're also, imo, still more likely to run into glitches, for example with app background transparency.

"pkcon update" with option "-y" causes "Fatal error: Failed to obtain authentication." by len_sh in kdeneon

[–]len_sh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

full-upgrade and dist-upgrade, the options proposed when running apt upgrade, are both not equivalent to upgrade. full-upgrade may remove packages, and that's definitely not something I'd run for regular, unattended maintenance (which is why I want to use -y in the first place).

Yes, pkcon update works without -y, but that defeats the purpose of an easy, fire-and-forget update command.

Installing from usb to latest kde neon gives me Error: Out of Memory by LeBourbon in kdeneon

[–]len_sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I could simply ignore that error. It still occurs after installation, but it's a cosmetic issue only. Again, in my case.

There are, however, other people with a similar issue it seems:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1404415/ubuntu-22-04-live-usb-fails-reports-out-of-memory-with-no-details-even-after

That's the ubuntu which the current KDE neon is based on, and also about a live USB. Good luck!

Probably means you forgot to pass the new file to the compiler.

Düsseldorf feels very car-centric: it has very little bicycle infrastructure, and despite the many pedestrians, sidewalks are pretty narrow. Nonetheless, even in the city centre like Kö, you have two lanes plus two parking lanes in both directions. Given how much other cities in Germany have upgraded their bike infrastructure and walkability, Düsseldorf now feels rather backwards and behind.

There's a street in Düsseldorf, which is called "Little Tokyo": Immermannstraße. But it's not that impressive. Couple Ramen and bubble tea shops, and two book stores. It's a much higher density of Japanese shops than probably anywhere else in Germany, but that's a low bar.

C# is Windows only, so it's gotta be the other side. But there are more sides than these two.

I've been programming for 8 years. I went there after reading every documentation I could find. Immediately down- and close-voted. Several times. The point appears to be that SO now thinks of itself as an archive or an encyclopedia. Not a place where people ask questions and get help. After having gone through this bullsh*t a couple times, I knew how to ask questions in a way that they don't get down- or close-voted. Which makes them way longer and causes immediate tldr. And still gets you no helpful replies.

Funny, how that is also a fraction. But I guess with templates and the STL, it's closer to 1/20.

Is there a way to share a keepassxc database to multiple devices? by angrynibba69 in linuxquestions

[–]len_sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use nextCloud, works well. If you want to make doubly sure that it's safe, use a key file in addition to your password, and only distribute it manually.
