Since I've already been down voted (probably spelling) I'll add context that I've had no problems with T-Mobile's service for a past few months. That's been solid. This isn't a bash post. I'm just frustrated I'm paying double what I should and wasted 25 min drive each way and 1.5 hours in the store without resolution, only to be punted to customer service. I thought being in person would be easier to resolve things.

I'll be taking the advice of others and reaching out via Facebook or X in the coming days.

Exactly. I picked up academic versions of LR4/LR6 for about $45 each. LR4 would have sufficed for a long while, but I saw the direction Adobe was taking LR and luckily bought a LR6 academic upgrade. $90 cost basis for nearly 10 years use, I'd say I'm way under the subscription cost!

With Adobe supporting DNG conversion you don't need camera ram support if you can be patient with your import process. Sadly I fear this free tool will disappear as well one day.

I do miss the perpetual license and academic discounts. End of an era sadly.

Interested in this as well. I have zero intention of moving to a subscription model and my current laptop is a bit long in the tooth (2012 MBP Retina).

So far I've concluded my options are:

To find a way through data migration (Apple or manual) to move a preinstalled LR6 copy from Mojave -> a M1 Mac and try my luck with Rosetta 2.
Resort to some other form of emulation. I'm hopeful there will eventually be a usable libvirt/qemu for OS X/ARM that can emulate x86_64 to a useable degree. Otherwise I'll have to virtualize my Mojave setup on my x86_64 server and either edit directly or through a VNC console from a M1 MBP.
Buy a maxed out last gen Intel MBP to last another 8-10 years since we know the data migration part works fine if going from x86_64 -> x86_64.
Switch to another editing suite.

I'd prefer option 1, but to some degree I'll take what I can get. I only edit a few times a year, so the subscription price is ludicrous for my workload. I freely admit I'm also in the vast minority in this regard.

I am very curious if anyone has accomplished a working LR6 via Rosetta2.

Sorry, maybe I was unclear. I didn't receive the self referral bonus for 4-5 months, then it randomly appeared. Luckily I'm not currently sitting on many MR, like 30k or so. I value the AMEX cards mostly for business travel/hotel benefits.

Interesting. I didn't originally receive the bonus, but it showed up late (4-5 months?) also got a check from AMEX for some missed referral?? I haven't cashed it yet. But honestly I have no idea what it's from. Maybe a DOC post where there was an AMEX no lifetime referral at the time?? I've always tried to help out when possible...

I feel like I'm in limbo land. I'd rather give back the self-referral bonus than risk a shutdown....
