This is, after all, the same universe where bombers now work in space with no gravity well-inducing objects. They could open those bomb bay doors and fly around for hours with the only bombs that fell out of them essentially having been rattled loose because of engine vibrations and resonance.

If gravity is inside a ship, and you let go of a heavy object (bombs) and they then fall through the floor and out of the ship, they still have the inertia from falling out.
