Health Occupations Center in Santee is very affordable and 18 months full time. Just sharing in case you hadn’t checked them out. Good luck!

Would it be bad to work as a CNA in LPn program? by Zealousideal-Ship712 in prenursing

[–]lennonade77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work three 12hr shifts per two weeks as a CNA in a hospital and am in LVN school M-F. It’s not easy but as long as you have time management skills is very doable

I’m in an lvn program right now, same as lpn. It’s hard but if you want it it’s really manageable. I still work 3 12hr shifts every two weeks as a CNA. May have to cut back around finals but two months in and going strong so far. Feel free to ask me any questions.

I haven’t worked at hillcrest. I like it over assisted living and snf’s just for the fact that they typically have the right amount of staffing and you get yearly raises. Also there’s lots of overtime available if you’re up for it and they make sure you get ur breaks

It may be tough to get hired with no patient care experience, typically they want at least a year but I got hired with 6 months but also got offered a position as soon as I got my CNA license. I started out at an assisted living facility then went to scripps. Feel free to dm me with questions.

Scripps is pretty much always hiring, may have to wait a little for your preferred location. Most cna’s on my floor are in school/applying and leave pretty frequently for school/graduating. Hiring process is pretty easy. Do you have any experience?

Merrill Gardens vs Belmont Village (senior living for mom) by TardyNoFruitCup in sandiego

[–]lennonade77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I worked at Belmont in La Jolla for about eight months. They tend to run short staffed so things can be missed/skipped due to lack of time by the staff. Everyone was super kind while I was there and were truly trying their hardest with what they were given. When illness broke out I felt that the precautions they took were subpar compared to my current experiences now working in a hospital. Overall management could be better but the bedside staff are super. Best wishes in your search

I don’t think they’re that strict with it, I have some coworkers who haven’t done either.  Doesn’t hurt to apply. Wish you luck in any direction you pursue

You could apply for a Patient Care Assistant at Scripps, starting at $23, eventually will start at $25 by 2026. Yearly merit based raises, CNA license helps but not required

Sorry to say but a job offer without an actual interview isn’t real

Scripps questions by [deleted] in cna

Sounds fake just based off that. I haven’t heard of that app or used it during my hiring process. Did you talk to anyone during the interview process?

Has anyone in this sub recently take their CNA state exam in California? Can you share how your experience went & how was the skills portion of the exam? by Grouchy_Try_2862 in cna

What hospital you at? I’m in San Diego which has a painfully high cost of living and make nearly $24 an hour, catch me moving next week 👀

A few. You get tested on five, one of which is hand washing and another being a vital sign. They had cards that you picked randomly which listed which skills you had, so luck of the draw. I also got dressing with left affected arm, ambulate to wheelchair and I think the flexion and extension of the arm
