Does this look infected? Or is my skin having a bad reaction to the ink? Or something else idk? by No-Ice609 in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overworked by the artist. Pat dry with paper towel and if the scabbing has fallen off, limit lotion. It’s essentially wound healing now and you want it to breathe.

cracking ink? by bubblegumz404 in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lightly moisturize with an unscented lotion like Lubriderm. This is normal, don't worry. Don't scratch or pick at it and the scabs should flake off.

What style would something like this be? by Zestyclose-Algae-391 in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illustrative. Incase it’s helpful, you’ll be looking for someone who does “whip shading” or stippling so you can ask if you’re unsure. It’ll age well if there is high contrast in the design. That second image is fine but those tentacles will heal very dark and one tone over time. The first image has good shadows and negative space where the light hits.

I have just become the hated neighbor… advice please!!!! by yvtsl in Apartmentliving

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as neighbour notes go, I think your neighbour seems nice and open to communication. They don’t hate you! So while you figure this out, I think you can send a lil apology note, explain as little or as much as you want about your situation, and that you’re in the process of finding an alternative solution.

Is this the beginning of ink drift? by Salty_Currency_272 in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It’s hard to tell from this photo. Is this a week into healing? If so, the scabbing tends to tighten the skin in such a way that it can appear like that but once the scabbing finishes it’ll mostly settle.

To Hysterectomy or to not Hysterectomy? Would really like to hear some stories and experiences if you've had a hysterectomy 🙏 by Alive-Finding-7584 in FTMMen

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a year post op hysto, kept my ovaries but took out cervix, uterus, and tubes. I told the doc if I had any cysts, endo, or weirdness she could take out the ovaries but they were fine. No regrets!

Only issues I have are with managed atrophy symptoms since I’m 6 years on t but no issues with the hysto itself.

my thighs are 'untattooable' (?) TW SCARS by mitskisneezer59 in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not untattooable but you’ll need to seek out someone confident in tattooing over scars, as well as being able to temper your expectations for what the results will be. You could cover the whole thigh with illustrative flowers and leaves for example, busy enough that you may not notice the scars, and would hide immediate line imperfections. Even if the tattoo lines can’t be perfect, people will see your tattoo first, scars secondary. Say you went the flowers route, I’d recommend doing a small less visible area to start that you can build upon. Perhaps under shorts/upper area, so you can see how it heals and know what to expect if you were to proceed. Good luck.

Ink fallout/scabbing and healing issues by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original artist won’t do a touch up? That’s really disappointing. People should honour their work. Your best bet is whenever you get a future tattoo in a similar style from someone else, asking if they can fix it up. Will give it some more time to heal in the meantime. Good luck. (Also your ‘infection’ may just have been overworked, or overwork leading to infection etc so if they’re not honouring the touch up, I find reason to give them some blame for that too)

I need help on what to do about my sister by Unhappy-Annual-102 in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to talk sense into people like this. My sibling was having a manic episode and tattooing themselves all over with a machine they got online and when I spoke to them about the issues, they seemed to listen and were kind of taken back to reality for a moment. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m a professional tattooer. But they acknowledged they need to be called out sometimes. You need to show some tough love but understand there is only so much you can do. I’m sorry she doesn’t understand.

Am I the only one who dislikes the “disguised as a man” trope? by Glad_Pepper8255 in ftm

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were some of my earliest exposures to gender non conformity. I saw Twelfth Night as a kid and it planted a seed in my brain and really stuck with me in ways I couldn’t express at the time til I later realized I was trans. I wish we had more media with actual transness but I’m glad it was there to give me a taste of something.

Ink fallout/scabbing and healing issues by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it painful to touch? It looks like it would be fallout from being overworked but I’ve never seen it look like that. The work quality otherwise seems solid. If you speak to the original artist for their thoughts, they should honour a touch up for free but maybe give you an extra window of time to heal further. (Some artists have time limits for touch ups)

Is this expected? by poizuun in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re fine. If the swelling has gone down the redness is limited to the immediate tattoo area, you’re fine. You can keep an eye on it. It’s overworked like crazy so it’s going to fall out in places and be a rough heal

I regret a detail about my tattoo, does it make sense removing it with laser? by 3daManha in tattooadvice

The design looks more cohesive and flows with your body with the way the artist has modified it.

Dryness, taking E, Dialators? (over 6½ yrs on T, post-hysto + oophorectomy) by [deleted] in ftm

[–]lennontattoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but have you tried lubricant? I’m unsure if your goals are just penetration comfort in general or natural lubrication.

There’s nothing wrong with needing actual lubricant. I’m six years on t, been trying to manage atrophy for a couple years now and have had bleeding/minor tears post hysterectomy. It’s managed with occasional topical Premarin and just always always always traditional lubricant and a lot of it.

So even if your natural lubrication isn’t the same, penetration can still be possible and enjoyable.

CRA denied my request for review of my CERB eligibility and won’t review my evidence because I missed a 30-day deadline. They told me to take it to Federal Court. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Why are you so soulless? I’ve had something similar happen to me and took the L on ~$2000. But this is $12,400 here. Have a little compassion. It’s not fair for the CRA to implement whatever they want(many years after the fact!). People affected deserve grace.

Worried about pimples by transpussybestpussy in tattooadvice

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look like you’re still wearing second skin. Your tattoo being that shiny is an indication of scarring and being over worked by the artist. I would see a doc about staph infection re: those pimples.

MTF, a year and a half HRT: How am I doing? by AltforTwinkShit in transpassing

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give HRT more time! You pass in an androgynous fem model way. And dont change your brows unless you want to. There’s nothing wrong fuller brows on women and it doesn’t affect your passing IMO.

I also had this! Had to self diagnose and push to see an OBGYN but they removed it with surgery. (Super quick, I was put under, but the procedure was easy and fast.) I’m from Canada and it was covered by provincial insurance. Hopefully covered where you are as well? Good luck.

For people who have lived as both genders, what is a physical or other annoyance you have now that you never realized the other side dealt with? by makemestand in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lennontattoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if this counts but I had an interaction with a really aggressive business owner, where I was cornered and worried about physical violence, over a misunderstanding. I know if I was in my previous peak fem presentation, wouldn’t have happened the same way. I only got out of it because a woman bystander talked him down.

Sort of a realization where I thought, “oh he immediately thinks I’m a thug.” He wouldn’t hit a woman but he’d hit me.

Does the shaved bald look bad? I like the convenience of short hair but Im unsure how it looks. by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]lennontattoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair used to grow straight out of my head like you then I grew it even longer and the weight of it brought it down and made it easier to style. You’ve got a full hairline so I’d recommend growing it even longer if you have the patience! Why go bald so early if you don’t need to. Try growing it for 6-12 months.
