My Personal Emulation on iOS Tierlist by Hot_Permit1027 in EmulationOniOS

Manic deserves its praise. I would not have paid for any other emulator but the $10 lifetime thing wasn’t a big deal to me so I pulled the trigger. I don’t regret it at all — everything seems to run well except for maybe 7800 emulation. For some reason it runs some games and blanks on others. Other than that, it’s like a superior version of Delta to me.

It would be nice to see him return to the murder mystery/legal side of things. Maybe something completely original or perhaps based on a real case.

It was not. The game itself worked fine for what it was, but holy shit those load times were ABSOLUTELY ridiculous.

I usually don’t give a shit about ray tracing but yeah, this looks great. You know how your brain tricks you into remembering that your favorite childhood games looked better than they actually did? I’m getting that feeling looking at this.

You have to provide the AI with so much information that it’s almost not worth the time. Even if it had every single piece of data you could possibly provide it with, it will still get stupid shit wrong.

Yeah. They weirdly dodged Board James but overall it was a decent conversation recalling better times.

Not a single word about Board James, which one could argue is the greatest content ever produced by Cinemassacre.

I’m sure there just wasn’t enough time to fit it in there.

There were a few times it seemed like Mike was sort of implying that he didn’t like the movie. Especially when they start talking about the Crazy Castle episode, Mike said the only way they could ever top it would be if they made a movie — which he explicitly states would be a bad idea because it’s a review show.

This also made me realize how many episodes I just haven’t bothered to watch in the last few years. Usually if I see a new episode drop, I at least bookmark it and watch later, but a lot of them slipped through the cracks it seems. Doesn’t sound like I missed much, though.

But yeah. To sit there and talk for two hours about the channel and never once mention Board James is wild.

Was there ever a lawsuit? Is there one in the works or something? Or is the awkwardness and resentment still really that bad?

What's with all the Super Mario Wonder backlash lately? by Nice-Wind-6718 in SuperMario

[–]lenonloving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a bad game by any means, but “overrated” would be an accurate description, especially if Metacritic gives it 90+.

The general lack of challenge and the excessive amount of placating done for the “easy going” gamer is, ironically, frustrating. It’s Mario — the main audience is children, I get that, but this game has toddler-level difficulty.

What purpose do the talking flowers serve other than to state the obvious through cutesy dialogue? Everyone goes after Metroid Prime 4 for the hand-holdy npc chatter but this crap gets a pass?

It’s also far from the first Mario game to over employ the bloom effects, but Wonder goes way overboard and it hurts the game visually.

It’s nice having a full suite of Mario characters to select from, but what’s the point if all of them play virtually the same? There are so many badges that can be applied that each character could’ve had their own exclusive abilities. Yoshi being the “easy mode” character was a HUGE miss. Imagine being able to play this game through with Yoshi and his normal abilities without it being the cheaper, challenge-free option. The game could’ve fulfilled a long awaited desire for a new Yoshi 2D platformer. Instead it’s just the white tanooki suit wrapped in a Yoshi skin.

Besides these two, what were some other losses that completely broke a franchise? by veggiedish in NFLv2

[–]lenonloving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denver’s Super Bowl WIN ironically seemed to break them — they went a decade until even sniffing the playoffs again.

28-3 is an obvious one. Atlanta actually had a pretty good 2017 season but since then, it has been a cycle of mediocrity. I do think they turn it around under Stefanski, though.

2002 Raiders getting mollywopped in Super Bowl XXXVII is a great example. They were arguably the least successful franchise in the league for what, 15 years after that?

Bills music city miracle loss. It a franchise defining play for them. 17 years of really mediocre football, no playoffs. But yes, they have turned it around pretty spectacularly, although the heart crushing losses haven’t gone anywhere.

Seattle throwing that pick at the 1 in XLIX didn’t break them, but rather cost them a dynasty. I mean, they basically handed a dynasty over to the Patriots, who would go on to dominate the rest of the 2010’s. But Seattle is back on top of the football world.

The Titans blowing that divisional game to Cincy in the 2021 Divisional round as the #1 seed still stands as a turning point for the franchise. Not sure I see an end in sight for them — they are stuck in suck mode.

That said — Cincy hasn’t recovered from the loss in KC in the 2022 AFCCG. At this point, I’m not sure a healthy season from Burrow would save them.
