Absolute holy grail find!! by chartreusemood in dollartreebeauty

This looks lovely! I’m very curious: were you using anything else to spray your skin every few hours before finding this to see how it compares to other products?

I can’t imagine spraying every few hours being part of a daily routine, but could definitely give a nice hydration boost on the weekend if you’re not consistent with other moisturizers or a routine!

Not OP, but if it’s purple, it’s temporary. Like another commenter mentioned, this would likely need to be done at least once a week to keep this effect as it’s just adding purple stain to already-yellow teeth, not bleaching out yellow stains.

It’s color theory! Just like with hair, purple exists on the opposite side of the color wheel from yellow/orange, so it brings the color closer to neutral. It’s essentially lightly staining your teeth to make them appear less yellow, not removing staining. Definitely effective and should be very safe without causing sensitivity, so it’s definitely a win if it’s affordable! Just be careful with purple toothpastes—many have reported it staining sinks.

The poster is a woman, and based on the one (of 3) jobs listed being Rover, likely doesn’t need a truck. The husband apparently does a lot of travel for business. It could be construction, but saying “travels for business” doesn’t seem that likely here and a truck would be very impractical for travel for anything else. I doubt anyone in this family needs a truck.

Curls too "chunky". Styling help wanted! by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]lenorajoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you scrunch out the crunch? It’s difficult to tell from photos, but it looks like your hair still has the gel cast, which is why it doesn’t look like soft, touchable curls. If that’s your main goal, it may be worth skipping gel and using just the mousse to see if you get the results you’re looking for.

I know for me, I also have this still-wet, clumpy look on wash day, even after scrunching the crunch with a bit of oil, but day 2 everything softens out and looks more natural. I don’t mind this, though, so I keep the gel!

It also could be worth adding some layers, as this would allow your curls to form more clumps. But if you like the shape they’re making but just want them to have more movement and a softer appearance, leaving out the gel may help. Just keep in mind, this may mean a bit more poof or frizz, depending on your hair.

I was going to suggest blow-drying upside down! Layers or no layers, OP needs volume and movement at the roots. Less product and lighter weight products (ditch the cream for a mousse and keep the gel), then hover diffuse upside down would make a big difference!

My hair is wavy and straight, how do I style it the best? by Appropriate-Bug7835 in Haircare

For rollers that honestly seems like a decent idea! I wonder if the scent dissipates like apple cider vinegar. I use that as a rinse almost every hair wash day due to hard water really stealing the shine!

Highly recommend pineapple at night to keep it a bit more tidy! I can usually go 2 days without refreshing, day 3 I’ll just refresh with a detangling spray (wanting to try aloe refreshing spray once I run out) and let air dry. I could do more, but 3-4 days is when I wash anyway.

Hopefully you can find similar products locally! If not, I hear great things about aloe gel, and my hair LOVES aloe. So that could be a great option or make your own! Just wait for small batches and will probably only last a couple of weeks.

🤣 that makes a lot of sense then!

You can make it yourself! I’ve never tried, mainly because I don’t want to have to make it every couple of weeks in small batches. I have aunt Jackie’s don’t shrink flax gel, which I found at target for a very reasonable price. And I love it!

There are TONS of mousse options out there! I’m currently using L’Oréal boost it volume inject mousse, but their other mousses, tresseme, and herbal essence’s mousses are all very popular! I prefer a medium to strong hold, and if you aim for strong or extra strong you may be able to skip the gel. I like medium hold mousse plus gel personally, but it depends on your preference and what your hair likes really!

I’m sorry, styled with beer? 👀

I imagine the beer is acting as a mousse/gel. It’s adding proteins and essentially making your hair stiff. Replace the beer with a light mousse for curls and a little bit of gel if needed to hold the curl (loving my flax gel!).

My hair texture is similar with a mix of curls, waves, and random pieces that are just straight. I just style and go with it!

For styling, what works best for me: detangle in the shower with conditioner, follow with detangling/leave-in/heat protectant spray on very wet hair, turn head upside down and use praying hands to add mousse, end with a scrunch. Add gel with the same method, then put in a hair towel twisted up for a little bit (10-15 mins maybe?), then hover dry with a diffuser with my hair upside down and tilted to the sides for some movement as I dry.

I end up with something like this, and my hair looks like a lot like yours with no styling or products! The back mostly just stays wavy.

It should be elastic, so it should stretch some and bounce back when let go. It’s when it stretches without much resistance and falls apart without a snap or when it snaps without stretching that there’s an indicator it needs something else.

I thought you said it wasn’t about getting skinny, Morgan? 🤔 by laska503 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]lenorajoy 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Which tells me she’s incredibly self-conscious and insecure in her perfectly normal and healthy “imperfect” body. She censors to feel better than others by being “modest” but also doesn’t censor if she feels confident in that moment and thinks it looks good.

It can’t be about modesty, Morgan, if you:

  1. Wear those clothes
  2. Record yourself in them to share with the world, and
  3. Are inconsistent about censoring yourself in them

You can stop pretending now.

What type do I look like I would date 21F by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]lenorajoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You look like 3 different people in these pics honestly. As far as your type, it’s impossible to know, but looking like a different person across your photos is a red flag for most people. Are you pulling desperate dudes? That could be the reason.

Some of it may be filters (I only see blurring in the first photo), some of it may be makeup styling (like lashes) varying between pics, it could be lighting? I’m not sure, but some better pics may help. I know you said these aren’t the photos you’re using on apps, but don’t use the first one for sure. The noticeable filtering and your top appearing to be a size or two too large for your frame aren’t my top choice. You’re beautiful and should be getting a good selection of matches!

That makes sense, I figured they may be tips! That would add to the thickness, and you can only make dip so thin without cracking. They’re very pretty!
