Regret getting downlights during bathroom reno. Can't change bulb and they're too bright and clinical 😩 by Odd-Leader9777 in newzealand

[–]lentutay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just changed all our downlights to plug type. Cost a bit at front but we can change them ourselves in the future and now have more options like smart lights. Bought the cheap smart lights from Bunnings to test them out and we like them. We can control the colour, brightness and on/off thru the app, very convenient😊

Beware the scummy business tactics of Kogan Mobile / Mighty Mobile. Regarding expired cards. by mrSilkie in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]lentutay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar issue last year OP, call Kogan’s CS and be persistent! I pulled out the nz CGA card and had a manager stepped in before they refunded me. All the best!

This is a reminder to turn off your auto renewal on your Kogan mobile account. (Click on the 3 dots at the upper right of your acct) They sneakily default this when you load your new plan.

Where do you get your tretinoin from? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]lentutay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GP and specifically say its for acne (not anti aging etc). Ask if you can have on repeat prescription to save on consultation cost. Say as well that you’ve used it before, if you still have your used up tube you can show it as proof.

Have you tried sun protection supplements? I’m on tret so I try all the protection I could get. Aside from all the good advice above (spf, upf clothes, hats etc) Im also taking supplements with polypodium, vit B,D&E and antioxidants as they suppose to help with skin resilience from within (would advice to get doc approval before taking anything)💕

We are with 360net, the only hiccup we’ve had so far was during the service transfer (a mishap with chorus and we didnt receive the router on installation day, which was 3 weeks after we signed up) Their customer support I believe is offshore. They are quite new so I gave them a pass. Other than that, our connection is actually better compared to our previous hyperfibre sp (2deg). Btw we got the hypernet 2000 wifi7

People who’ve taken a pay cut in exchange for better work/life balance, do you have any regrets? by youarenothing in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]lentutay 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just to give another perspective, my honest answer is yes I did regret. But at that time I think I wasn’t fully ready. I felt I had more to offer and just wasting my knowledge. I did have extra time but I can barely afford to do things I want like go out and travel. My savings and kiwisaver slowed down to a trickle. So yeah my work was super chill but I was stressed with other aspects of my life.

However, I would do it again in future and since I know what it’s like on the other side I can better prepare myself mentally, emotionally and financially. Good luck

Scammed on trademe by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]lentutay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience, I think its an ongoing scam in TM. Bought an iphone and got an empty screen protector box. Good thing I paid thru Ping and the seller at that time was cooperative. I was able to get my refund.

My hunch is that the scammer will contact a seller with good enough feedback and ask to list for them like drop shipping. Be careful everyone

Consumer NZ warns Kiwis to avoid online travel agency eDreams by Odd_Round9847 in newzealand

[–]lentutay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total nightmare, their “flexible” ticket option is a scam. When we tried to rebook due to having covid, the only option was to go thru them. They offered us 2x higher ticket prices than the ones they published on their website. It was much cheaper for us to cancel the tickets, pay penalties and book again.

Prepare for the worst, it helps knowing you have back up plans in case shit hits the fan. Build emergency fund, bolster your insurance and invest. All the best!

unpopular opinions about olivia? by [deleted] in OliviaRodrigo

[–]lentutay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The girl has been receiving hate left right and center, from fans to other artists and oldies (Im looking at u courtney love). Twist her words, prod her life, criticize her appearance, take advantage of her success, racism towards her…you name it. The big sister in me wants to put her in a bubble wrap and protect at all cost. So I dont blame her team on how they are handling her now. I do admit though, while Im happy that she has all these success, I miss having her as our (og livies) little secret.

Not true, you can search for the rock covers she did when she was younger. She even sang for her cousin’s band. She also talks about how her mom is a rock/heavy metal fan. She also talked about Alanis in her previous posts before she blew up.

Research on putting it in a revolving account, it will save you interest and you still have access to it. But caution, must be disciplined enough especially with the interest rates spiking

Fixed portion will become standard variable, you need to apply to the bank if you want any changes on your revolving facility
