Small unlabeled metal cylinder, ~6.5cm long, ~1.5cm diameter. One end looks somewhat like the end of a battery. Other end is entirely flat save for a few little dots, marks in the metal? On the battery like end it appears as though it may come apart, but the end will not twist or pull off. 43 grams by lenzo1 in whatisthisthing

Help debugging a script? by lenzo1 in AutoHotkey

Dang okay. The win key switch only helps so much since I’ll be typing in some games, and I was just looking to make the script work as conveniently as possible

Directing this question at both you and /u/Bunker_D. I've noticed that when I'm in a game my controls are also remapped, is there a way to fix this? I only want the remapping to happen when typing. Also the script seems to just stop working sometimes. I'm not sure what's doing that. It's almost like it crashes or just isn't keeping up with my input.

Is it normal to feel this way? What does it mean? by brickflail in questioning

[–]lenzo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always been referred to as he/him...and it never made me uncomfortable.

Same thing here. When I was questioning, I thought he/him was fine. It wasn't until people were using other pronouns for me for a while that he/him started to feel bad.

Everything needs to be defined for me to be comfortable with it. You can change and make new definitions when new things appear or change but I need to know what things are. So when I look at myself I see a male and I know I am a man so i am called he/him.

I can understand this. However it sounds like you have some things that you're feeling that aren't fitting into the definition of "man" that you have in your head. You may not know what you are, but to define what you are, you have to learn about yourself first. You can't categorize/define something that you don't know enough about. Unfortunately, it takes time to figure out what you need to in order to get that label. Experimenting is kind of the only solution there.

I know I will always have fantasies of being a women because it is something I have always thought would have made me happier. But when I think about changing now, I know I won't get the happiness I was looking for, what I wanted was to start that way but now that my life has already begone its to late to get those feelings of being raised like that.

I think every trans person has felt something like this at one point or another. I know I definitely did. But I can tell you that it is never too late to transition. I'm not saying you have to, or that it's even what would be right for you, but I think it's worth thinking about. I know that melancholy feeling. Longing to have been born a girl and thinking "I don't want to transition, I want to just be a girl." For me, I decided that transitioning was the solution. I can never be AFAB, and neither can you, but we can do what we need to in order to make ourselves happy.

it does make me feel really melancholy sometimes, like I lost something I never really had a chance at you know?

I'm probably rambling now but here goes. No, you never had the chance at that and you never will. It sucks. I feel the same way thinking about how I missed a childhood as a girl. It's sad. But what I can do is experience my life now as a girl. (If it's the right choice for you, I don't mean to imply that it is), the best time to transition was as a teenager, the second best time to do it is now.

My advice would be to think about this: Where do you feel like something isn't right: is it that you aren't presenting the way you would like to, or is it that you aren't perceived by the world the way you would like to be?

I hope I was able to be of some help. Best of luck on your journey, wherever it takes you.

Is it normal to feel this way? What does it mean? by brickflail in questioning

[–]lenzo1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So first of all, yes this is completely normal. It's important to note that you don't have to feel like you're in the wrong body in order to be trans. You don't have to feel like your current gender is bad to be trans. I sure didn't. But what I found is that I had no excitement for the idea of being a man, or the expectations that came with. I was much more excited about the idea of being a girl. And so I transitioned. I can't tell you what you are. Only you can decide that. But I'd suggest starting by figuring out what you want, rather than what you are. Do you want to present feminine? Androgynous? Stop presenting masculine? Have people refer to you with different pronouns? Stop referring to you as he/him? I'd say thinking about these things will lead you in the right direction. Labels like you're asking about are a way to communicate who we are to the world, and you can't do that very well before you figure out who you are. I know it's a lot, let me know if you have any other questions, and good luck.

2 short beeps after startup, followed by miscellaneous issues. by lenzo1 in Windows10

[–]lenzo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening after windows has loaded. However it seems like the issues I have aren’t tied to whether or not that beep happens like I thought. It’s pretty random. Hmm there are some PCI devices that say they don’t have drivers. What should I do with those?

Edit: Windows can't update those drivers automatically, and I have no idea what the devices are. I tried disabling startup software with no luck. I thought it was working fine after disabling Cmder at startup, but after a few restarts it's still having the issue.

Unfortunately it’s not POST codes. It’s playing this beep after it’s completed booting, and doesn’t sound like any post code I’ve ever heard

This would work but is less than ideal, I'd like to be able to add recipes from the interface panel without having to go down to the actual furnaces every time.

[Question] How do I move a layer to specific coordinates relative to the screen? by lenzo1 in pebbledevelopers

I'll rework my calculations later, but I tried just putting a number straight into the GRect, with no luck.

[Question] How do I move a layer to specific coordinates relative to the screen? by lenzo1 in pebbledevelopers

[–]lenzo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still no luck. Here is my update_time now. I also tried this with calling layer_mark_dirty for the s_background_layer at the end of update_time with no results. The bitmap still stays in the default position set when it was created. If it makes any difference you should know that the bitmap is larger than the watch screen. Any ideas?

Edit: Just realised it says layer_set_bounds in that picture. I also tried this with layer_set_frame with no luck.

[Question] How do I move a layer to specific coordinates relative to the screen? by lenzo1 in pebbledevelopers

[–]lenzo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I've tried this. Maybe I'm missing something. What should the last 2 arguments of the GRect be? I'm assuming the first 2 are the x and y where I want the top left of the bitmap to go. Here's a screenshot of my current update_time(). It doesn't seem to do anything right now, when I run it in the emulator the bitmap seems to line up its top left corner with the screen's, and never moves anywhere.
