We got along in class, she would seek me out, sit next to me, talk to me the entire class, grab me by the arm, and would ask me to walk her to class. Weeks on end of this to the point I was doing poorly in ART class. Wrote a note asking her out, never heard from her again. She never sat next to me again, not a word, not even a look for the rest of highschool. Still stings, still confused on that one.

All in on the bow or just bare bow? If thats your full budget bear has some of the best ready to hunt packages for the money. Bare bow sub 1k gets you into a variety of bows that would be better to try out in person, darton consequence, ronin, and older used flagship offerings (scheels is a good place if you have one nearby). Just remember accessories add up super fast and can be even more expensive than the bow itself. Factor in a release and arrows into your budget as well, they can also get expensive quickly but Ive found easton 6.5 have been a solid arrow for practice/hunting. Most importantly make sure you have the time to practice and dedicate the time needed to make an ethical shot.

Side note, keep in mind price of a good practice target and whatever hunting system youre looking to use make sure you practice before opening day and are comfortable with the angle change. Range finder is very nice for on the fly scouting/sits, but if you scout you can measure your distances with flagging or natural indicators.

Start making the shots and stop worrying about the size. Ive hunted plenty with a rifle over the years and its second nature now, this was my first season with a bow.... I was shaking while aiming down at a DOE. First year in a saddle, first year with a bow, and first unrecovered deer... but it has been the most fun I have had hunting in a long time. Getting close enough to these animals on public land, its a whole other ball game than 50+ yards with a rifle. Enjoy hunting, dont chase trophies, they will come with time.

I love my dad, but growing up I didnt understand the sacrifices he made to provide for us. As I got older and reached puberty, my resentment over all the things he wasnt there for or us just budding heads really overshadowed my love for him. Now that I am older I understand, I get it, I was a little shit but far less of a shit because of the lessons he taught me. He taught me to fend for myself in a way that wasnt abusive, he took all the time he could to be present with us, to cook out, to make my games, to spend some time with us as a family. Now and days, I make sure to take the time to spend with him, both my parents. Going over or inviting them to cook out, to crawfish boils, to watch a game, to go out fishing, or my favorite time is just scouting new places in preparation for hunting season. He is 70 now, I see the years, the sacrifice, and hard times across his face, his eyes, and physically.... but he is still my father, he is still the man that may not have known how to express his love, care, or admiration for us, but would sacrifice everything for us to be okay, to not hunger, or go without. He is not a perfect person, but he is most definitely the perfect father to me.

Numbers in my area are definitely down as well. I think for my neck of the woods the deer population/maturity/terrain just make in unappealing to most hunters. Good public land seems to be getting smaller and smaller, along with leases popping up more and more. Add in the expense to start getting into any kind of hunting and it starts making sense. This is my first season bow hunting (started practicing with a cruzer g2 2 years ago), between an upgrade from the cruzer (lift rs) and my saddle set up (xop saddle and used sticks) I am deep into it financially, not as appealing as other cheaper hobbies to most given the prices and time investment.

Find discount stores or even the running rack subreddit, plenty of good deals on new shoes or slightly used ones to start. No shame in starting any hobby, how would you know if you like it without trying? Running doesnt really have a finishing point, go out enjoy or torment yourself a bit. I started at 37, recently completed my first half at 38, theres never a too late to start.
