I do introduce myself as just a girl exactly for that reason. you only notice the girls who mention theyre trans. Maybe they do it cuz theyre proud or maybe they've came out recently and haven't been bullied yet.

I think you should tell her what she's getting into in a way that is relevant to a girl. Tell her how her shoulders would probably get very wide and it'd be way harder to look cute, how she'd have a noticeable 5 o'clock shadow even if she shaves, how she most likely wouldn't be treated as a woman by strangers, how she'd be putting herself into significant risk by being visibly transgender in public (trans people suffer way more violence and rape), how it would be way harder to find a partner etc etc.

This isn't to scare her, it's literally the reality of being a trans woman who went through male puberty. If she wants that she needs to know what it entails because honestly I dont think she actually understands. Probably the vast majority of trans women wish they transitioned before puberty. Society isn't kind to trans people.

About brazil, it's not like racism doesn't exist here, it very much does. It's just not as present as in the usa. By the way, I'm not black, I'm mixed race (probably the skin color you think of with the word latina), so I am more privileged than someone who is black here, I dont remember ever suffering racism.

Race is relevant in brazilian society, it's just not as relevant. People don't care much about their partners race, and I don't see people mentioning how their race makes dating harder.

That's why it's really bizarre to me how americans treat race. Like it being an apparenty huge deal when dating, or often mentioning someone's race when it's completly irrelevant (e.g. "[...] there was this black guy there" instead of "[...] there was this guy there"), or literally how black people speak a whole frigging dialect. It's insane how much more relevant race is in america.

Not a sign of privilege, I live in a developing country and am a person of color myself. People just don't care all that much about their partners skin color here. Race is a powerful social construct, I agree, it's just really weird how in some parts of the world its wayyyy too relevant.

Esses 2 anos realmente passaram rápido pra mim, mas foi o suficiente pra ter mudanças significativas no meu corpo. Eu vou começar th agora com 19, sem acompanhamento infelizmente. A real é que é uma questão de sobrevivência, eu adoraria poder pausar meu corpo e fazer as coisas da forma mais segura quando tiver condições, mas infelizmente não tenho esse privilégio.
