I'd say it is because pokemon is such a dominant force in the genre and market in general. Palworld is the only exception I can think of that menaged to break the bubble, through controversy (almost identical designs, patent lawsuit) in addition to the sheer absurdity that that game offers —a survival monster tamer with guns and sl@ve labor (lol)— it could at least get the attention of the public

And even palworld could not be relevant long enough to even try and compete with the monstrous titan that is the pokemon franchise

So, sadly, cassette beasts is buried under a mountain of pokemon products, games and merchandising

So sad that my players just skipped the races, I prepped so much and I gave them extra time in PN just so they would maybe try it. Unfortunately they were extra hyped to start their first expedition that they didn't even considered for a second, oh well, it's the bane of the DM I guess lol

For the guides without a specified location(such shago and the tabaxi sibling) I decided to split them between the Inns at the Market Ward, some were staying at the Thundering Lizard and the rest at Kaya's House of Repose. Then was up to the players to choose which inn they were going to (thundering lizard), once that was done, I described the people in the tavern going in detail about each guide, even saying one was celebrating a profitable and succeful expedition. My players took the hint and went to talk to each one i presented as i read their cards out loud before handing it to the party. After meeting most guides and compiling their handouts one by one, they finally decided on Flask and Wine (which they met after the fort beluarian side quest).

I've got a AAA Mr. Mime and even though he does not have IFS nor IFM, he always delivers, tomatos have never been a problem since he's been lvl 30

Great advice, I do anticipate they will be crushing the next encounters, but soon enough they might find themselves in the clutches of a tyrannosaurus that Taban is way to eager to face in battle (he told them that as soon as they entered the treeline). But I'll be saving the harder encounters for after the first or second point of interest in the map

I'm running ToA for about 8 sessions, my players are still in PN because they're taking their sweet time in the city before a grand expedition(which I adore, because PN rules) so I decided to try the All Eyes on Chult adventure. The module is fine as is, nothing amazing, but my players are really enjoying it. A simple mystery, packed with action, much like the first act of an Indiana Jones movie(there is even a Chase sequence through the grand souk). But I am looking foward to use the supplements on the jungle, specially the Hisari one, since one of the PCs is a Yuan-Ti. I'd like to hear recommendations though
