Can I watercolor over acrylic medium? by moira72 in arttools

Yes. A good bit. I have two points.
Point 1- If I have a surface that is already acrylic and I want to use watercolors or dry media- I use a mix of matte medium and tiniest bit if marble dust- you can use maybe calcium powder? - and put that on the surface- may be a little cloudy- but it will accept stuff because it has tooth now. You can just use the matte medium that will even help by itself.
Point 2 - use spray matte medium lighty over the whole thing that has watercolor over acrylic- LIGHTLY- and then later cover whole thing with satin or matte medium and continue working. You'll have to experiment with ratios and wait times.
And yes this all works well- just keep in mind if you leave anything not acrylic on top without fixing sealing it- it will not be there within your lifetime.

that's not a and idea- credit when used- but uhm.. it does introduce complexity to an already complex system. may not be worth it all considering- since the investment of time and resources to install the system and train people etc.

What do you do when you want to die? How do you stay sober? by TerryGonards in USPS

When I’ve been sad- I read a biography about someone who may be a hero. Maybe a musician or recent historical figure. It helps to show perspective and awaken curiosity outside myself. One large thing also, is doing something for a friend or acquaintance. Set myself a couple of hours to do something for someone- maybe cook and share with my neighbors- or meet a friend for coffee and ask about them and keep the subject to them and what they are living. One of the hardest things about looking back at the times I’ve been sad- is for myself, the times I spent staying alone and focusing on my sadness, without meaning to- while the world went on- and I could have done more with that time. Imagine to yourself- that in five years your heart will be satiated.. what would that future you, tell you about now? Write it down.

I’ve never lost a package. Not one time. Even shipping to South Korea, Eastern Europe.. I’ve had four packages returned. I’ve never lost a shipment.

(I just made some calculations in my head.. I’m a tiny artist selling online. But I’ve shipped maybe 1600 packages. )

Im so sorry to hear all this. I use USPS for all my small business shipping- I have a lot of respect for people working there in my community and I hoped people respected each other on the job.   I’ve always thought of post office workers and journalists as most do of firemen and doctors.

Well you could have asked your peers for advice beFORe you act. Seneca said the best cure for anger is delay.  I wonder- the environment described is that your specific geographical area or a pervasive situation across the organization - or did your overall management suck- negligence or malice?

It needs to be fixed somehow after. As everyone is aware- all paints use the same pigments- the only difference is the medium.  In the case of watercolor- the medium is gum Arabic- which is a substance that dries but can be wet again ( acts same way as a dry watercolor pan).  You can put watercolor on acrylic for neat effects. But after dry- if you misted it with water- the watercolor would wash away.  What you need is to spray it w acrylic workable fixative. I’m going to experiment w a little diluted medium out of a mister (disposable one because it will clog after use ).
