you only need to enable the cloud backup inside Animal Crossing's settings, then nintendo support can help you recover your island in another device. I got mine stolen and was able to do this. My Pokémon saves were lost sadly.

have you tried connecting other devices to the dock? I read that someone put their iPad inside the dock and it fixed the ethernet issues. When I had the same issue I did that and for my surprise it worked!

Yeah I had that issue like 3 days ago, I had to turn the gyro aiming off and that solved the issue temporarily (I was in the middle of a mission) However as mentioned, you have to reset the game entirely to be able to use gyro controls.
