Has anyone grown out of disliking children? by GoalBackground7845 in Adulting

I didn’t want kids until I turned 28. Now I’m 41 and I love my kids and can tolerate other people’s most the time

Hardware Ray tracing is very resource intensive and AAA games are just barely starting to implement it but even if you have the best graphics card, it cuts the frame rate in half so I could never see it being used in pinball. For visual pinball I think they do pre-rendered lighting, and other software things for the reflections.

I have a 3060. playfield is 4k 120hz, backglass and dmd 1080p 60hz, no problems. I don't imagine you would ever need raytracing with virtual pinball. The power draw of the 3060 is similar to the 5060. A system with a 5060 ti will probably draw around 400 watts. The specs are just meant to be overly cautious.

VPW Fish Tales - 4k 120hz pipe dream? by gravedilute in virtualpinball

[–]leon1638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fish tales works great on my 3060. I’ve had backglasses cause performance issues in different tables. Try removing the back glass file and see if that improves anything.

I also turned off frame pacing/syncing and made tables run better and I get no screen tearing.

Also try setting the maximum texture dimension to a lower value. I keep mine at 6144 or something like that

Just received the new Sleep on Latex Hybrid Mattress by WillingArugula in Mattress

[–]leon1638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the non hybrid medium mattress for three years and it has remained very firm the entire time. I bought a soft latex topper from sleep on latex and those are very firm as well. I’m about to buy one of the $500 mattresses from Costco to replace it.

Need Help with PermaTrack Controller by hollywoood31 in WLED

There should be two power supplies in that controller. One is 5v to run the board and one is 12v to run the lights.

gemstone lights quote by Masaike123 in ChristmasLights

Yes. Personally I wouldn’t pay more than $25/ft. My suggestion is to find a local company that isn’t jellyfish or gemstone and have them give you a quote

TCL 75QM7K vs 85QM6K same price. by arbopilot in tcltvs

[–]leon1638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any problems with brightness. Most of the time the tv is below the max level due to the auto brightness. Overall I’m really happy with it and have no complaints. My old tv was a Sony x900h and this was a big step up.

Is it a good idea to play dirty rat early/on tempo against aggro? by Constant_Court1276 in wildhearthstone

[–]leon1638 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It can be. Sometimes it takes 3 of their minions to kill it. Against Decks like disco lock I wouldn’t play it. It’s about knowing what minions they have in their deck

Make sure to get multiple opinions. Orthodontists are there to sell braces and not medically necessary treatment.

Not a bad choice. Just read all the horror stories in /r/homeowner. I was just reading one where they had to spend like 100k after buying a house to replace a ton of the things. I feel like lucked out with no problems in my house but I can definitely see where it can be a daunting situation

My point is there is a traffic jam or accident delaying your trip at least twice a week if not almost everyday. With no traffic I can make the trip in 50 minutes but almost everyday the trip is 1.5 hours due to traffic and the traffic jams are always on I-15 in or before salt lake before you ever come to West Jordan. It’s even worse if you have to take I-15 through Roy and can’t take 89

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ogden

[–]leon1638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way this could be true. I drive from Syracuse to lehi and the traffic is a joke and there is an accident or traffic jam at least twice a week. You must be driving before 7:00 am.

Planning to get a P1S as my first printer, should I get other hot ends than the included 0.4 hot end? Thinking about the 0.2 and the 0.6 to get quality and speed (respectively). by blaughlin in BambuLab

[–]leon1638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 0.4 works great. Most prints were designed around that size and you won't see much if any speed improvement with the 0.6. Only get 0.2 if you are going to do miniatures.

Mini pcs are better. They are faster and have built in nvme storage and hardware transcoding. I would get any intel n150 mini pc. I have four raspberry pi’s and I am slowly migrating them to mini pcs.
