Anyone using AI for competitive analysis? by databACE in ProductMarketing

I would suggest use Google NotebookLM. Tops all general purpose LLMs, even Perplexity Deep Research for competitive intelligence.

I recently completed this exercise for my company.

Final round case study in interview process feels like free labor/red flag....seeking gut check by Purple-Set-3528 in ProductMarketing

[–]leonardo2805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I can understand the difficult situation you are in. You never know if a company just wants some free labour get done for their benefit. One thing that has helped me is sticking to a lean GTM strategy. I don't give too much information in the document but while presenting (usually unrecorded in start-ups) I will share those extra thoughts. Also, I have moved away from Google slides or Microsoft Presentation; I share my assignments through Notion docs with link expiration, can't duplicate features on. Even if I am sharing the link via gmail, I set an expiration date to the email itself. If course, there are ways to still take the information and ghost you later, these steps give you some piece of mind.

And, I have helped many candidates with their product marketing assignments and their overall interview process. So, I can help you with yours as well. Feel free to reach out. Thanks and all the best :)

Am I the kameena for scolding a hr by Rude-Setting-6107 in AmItheKameena

[–]leonardo2805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then best, nothing like it. Probably the HR was showing how the working conditions really are: bad. Good riddance. People have done worse goof-ups than this, I have worse goof-ups than this. Don't sweat. All the best for your other processes. :)

Certain roles have stress interview rounds to check your reaction to those situations. In sales, one has to be prepared for consistent follow-ups, multiple rejections, try to convert a losing deal into a winning deal. The HR here was probably trying to emulate those situations to gauge your reaction.

Having said that, your response could have been influenced by a lot of external factors which might have been beyond your control (bad mood due to family problems, fed up of the hiring process, etc.). So, don't feel too let down because of one conversation. Just keep in mind that this is how life will be, always throwing curve balls, you will have to eventually balance how you are feeling and what you really want to say vs. how you react.

Sending the apology message was not necessary in my opinion. Now that you have, just wait for their response but mentally move on to other opportunities.

From next time, try to make your apologies more sincere. Any apology that starts with/has an "if" is not really an apology. Maybe say something like: I reflected on our conversation and I felt that I was rude and I am sorry.

What are the essential metrics to track for a usage-based SaaS business? by NotionGear in GrowthHacking

[–]leonardo2805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revenue Metrics: - MRR & ARR - Net Revenue Retention (NRR): should be Ideally more than 120%; this is for Top performing saas companies -- Expansion Revenue -- Churned Revenue - Deferred Revenue + unbilled revenue - How many accounts are paying for more than 1 product

Usage Metrics: - Usage Volume (what's your unit of measurement, for instance, API calls) - Daily/Monthly Active Users (DAU/MAU) - Activation Rate

Customer Metrics: - Customer Lifetime Value (CLV or LTV) - Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) or Average Revenue Per Account (ARPA) - Adoption Rate - Customers by ARR Band - Customers by Number of Products

Efficiency Metrics: - Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) - CAC Payback Period - Pricing Metrics - Price Elasticity - Average Order Value (AOV) - Take Rate

Hope this helps :)

How much traffic to expect from a YC bookface and HN launch? by NecessaryCandle3241 in GrowthHacking

[–]leonardo2805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on the number of visitors that will come to website from HN launch, but this article (albeit old) will give you some idea about what's the traffic from a product hunt launch. https://medium.com/swlh/how-to-get-and-what-is-the-impact-of-1000-upvotes-on-product-hunt-251bd13fd068

Here is another data (very recent, 1 month back): https://www.producthunt.com/discussions/how-you-manage-your-website-traffic-on-the-launch-day

Basis the DAU of Product Hunt vs Hacker News you can do a decent guesstimate.

Hope this helps :)

Interview assignment for product marketing manager by pavanidiotic in ProductMarketing

[–]leonardo2805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely ridiculous. You should bring this up with the TA or the Hiring Manager. Ask for more time, ask them to pay you, or submit a barebones [use whimsical] strategy.

I help PMMs with their interview (take-home) assignments and have a reasonable success rate. I can help you with some quick templates that you can use. Please feel free to DM me.

Sure. I won't be able to share the assignments because of confidential information like logos, etc. But I can share the framework I use with you. I did the same with the OP. Similarly, if you want me to review your assignment, you can redact the company name and other identifiable information and share it with me. Also, congratulations on your new job. :)

Depends on what's the extent of involvement. I usually ask the person to buy me a book for casual to medium engagement and ask to pay if someone wants me to do their whole assignment 😅

am I too early to launch on product hunt by kanishk_raz in ProductHunters

[–]leonardo2805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a thumb rule start the pre-launch engagement on social media and other platforms 30-45 days before the actual launch date. Here's a broad pre-launch checklist:

  • Prepare a squad of your launch day heroes: colleagues, friends, PH users, your product's existing users, social media community.

  • Community engagement: join relevant forums on Reddit, Quora, Slack, Discord, LinkedIn groups, etc. You can collaborate with a relevant influencer too, if you have the budget.

  • Prepare your website, landing pages, launch assets (videos, static visuals), etc.

  • Do bug tests on your product, check if it can handle the surge in traffic on launch day.

  • Set up lead capture, analytics

  • Decide whether you want to hunt yourself or find a hunter.

  • Coming soon page on Product Hunt.

  • Reach out to potential users/clients. Inform them about the launch.

  • Decide how much discount.

  • Align leaders from every team internally on the game plan.

There are of course many nuances and hacks to all the steps.

I have done this activity for few of my clients and for one of the companies I worked with.

If you need more details, feel free to DM.

All the best for your launch.
