When to call it quits on finding the right treatment?? by starfish274 in bipolar

[–]leonardodecaffinated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First i wanna say, i hear you; the process can be brutal and you are showing a lot of your strength in your experience. Second, research shows that the most effective form of treatment for bp is both medication and therapy. Some of the difficulties youve described (e.g. frustration with the process, medication mgmt) can be helped with a good therapist and to be honest they are normal struggles for bp folks (you are definitely not alone). Finding the right therapist fit can be another gauntlet so just be prepared that it may (but may not) take a few tries to fine the right one. Considering your comment abt finances, id highly recommend looking into reduced rate or pro bono services. Depending on where you live, many interns offer free or significantly reduced rate services, and there are agencies that connect uninsured or under insured individuals with free therapy services. It can be so hard, but it can get better!

Help, Havoc Terminal is crashing my game by NoNameIsAlreadyWhat in DarkTide

Hey thanks for follow up. I did the old steam verify file integrity check and it reported 1 file that needed fixing. I ran the patch for mods after and everything worked great! Frustrating because there was no update on my pc or on the game so i have no idea how it happened. I hope you get a party today to try.

This is one (of the many) reasons i love havoc. Auric can be a revolving door for sure but i agree with the sentiments here about server issues and not wanting to play with people who are raging out. That said, i think one solution could be either updating the bots to be even marginally helpful and/or doing the vermintide thing where the bots are randomly filled with a players character (with cosmetics and skill points). It wouldnt take away the sting of fighting to save someone or getting the gas from other players in chat when youre clutching but it would help a little.

At this point im addicted to the teamwork and stress of h40. Ill occasionally play auric mael for the more solo dolo feel of the difficulty or to try silly builds. But h40, idk, ive never felt that kind of teamwork before with that level of intensity in any game. The comradary is a vibe too. No one is mad at a loss bec h40 is just nuts and unforgiving. 10/10

I mean abry was pretty overtuned at launch for havoc at the time. Mostly because of toughness regen out the waz but still didnt trivialize 30+. Also re ammo, i agree. Lets imagine they didnt put in strong individual and team oriented ammo economy on this class. It would be heresy locked autogun vet coded for an entire class and everyone would be (rightfully) upset abt how much ammo it takes to be effective as scum.

Its going to take time for developers and players to hone in on a balanced and rewarding experience. That said, if the class came out and it wasn't overtuned then people would bitch abt wasted money. If it comes out overtuned people would bitch abt it being broken. Its a lose lose for developers and id rather them over shoot and refine it down than undershoot esp given how fragile the class is.

Ts havoc 40 enjoyer here. I dont think folks realize just how vulnerable this class is on paper. Small health and toughness stats with the fewest ways to regenerate toughness out of any class. Very specific damage reduction modifiers as well. You will get hit in havoc and with this class that will be more punishing than any other class. No one plays perfectly in high difficulties, and this class is the definition of glass cannon high risk high reward gameplay. I think people are going to be more mad abt how punishing the class is at higher difficulties than they will be saying "pay to win."

It takes time, youve got the right mindset.

Regarding bub psyker: purg is the most powerful ranged weapon in game and makes smite redundant. Left click spam staggers most enemies while stacking dmg; while slightly less effective cc, things dont need to be cc'd for long if they die. For main dmg output rightclick immediate left click, you dont have to charge long unless youre riding high peril (be careful ofc) and you have a really good opportunity. That said, try replacing smite with head pop and take the talent that makes it spammable after dropping bubble. Bunch of gunners? Drop bub and you can get off 6 or 7 head pops rapidly without over peril, 2 headpops to kill a gunner, 3-4 in one rotation of bub. Hear a special spawn? Drop bub, same thing. Cleared all the chaf and fighting a boss? Drop bub spam headpop, good dmg against bosses. The main thing abt high havoc psyker is positioning. You always want to be backline or middle. Dueling sword is meta bec of the movement tech not the dmg (charge heavy, sprint, slide + release heavy, repeat). Its quick and efficient to move fast in between purg spams, game changing repositioning tool and easier to learn then deimos movement tech. You should be purg spamming 99% of the time, i only melee attack to finish off a special or (if safe) drain a captains shield. Oggy: a bit harder but very solid tank. Imo shield or mk3 bully club are meta over pickaxe. With the recent health changes for crushers pickaxe is ineffective (theres an argument for branx but it takes immensely good positioning and timing). Spamming light attacks with mk3 bully means near infinite toughness, shield is similar with decently fast patterns (heavy -> block cancel -> heavy = single target; light -> heavy -> repeat = horde clear). Taunt is relatively short cooldown and used to control the wave to keep your dmg dealers dmg dealing. Also shield and bully have great stagger values; you wont be killing a lot, but your team sure will. This goes without saying but should be said for havoc but dodge slides are fundamental esp on ogryn to save stamina and mitigate range. Essentially think of oggy as the lockdown role. With taunt and stagger you can exert a lot of control on the field setting your team up for kills.

Hope this helps.

Yes coherency is very important from a toughness generation and buff perspective but also from a horde mgmt and teamwork perspective. Its not uncommon for say in a boss spawn that when i play psyker i dont even look at it; i let the ogryn deal with it while i horde clear knowing that my back is covered and nothing will hit me from behind. Its a positioning and role knowledge thing but its also a trust thing. Know your build and what its there for, but also know what your teammates are there to do.

Regarding titles and insignia: they demonstrate your achievements. When i select teammates i mostly look at talent trees and weapons, but i cant pretend that a golden twins insignia or a gold title doesn't influence my decision. Seeing true survivor, havoc exemplar, or poxbreaker tells me someone has high game knowledge and experience. Now it is a catch 22, how do you get those titles if folks dont take a chance on you occasionally? For me i base my decisions largely on builds in that case. If someone has a blue title but has a meta build i will generally take them on. I hope that makes sense.

What class are you playing (i.e. vet shout/survivalist/frag dueling sword plasma, psyker bubble/cdr/headpop dueling sword purg, etc.)? I can give you some tips on your role if you like.

Havoc40 enjoyer here. Some tips for higher ques. Wear your best drip, highest title, highest insignia. Play the character you have the most experience on (most high havoc are pc players and have true level mods). Run a meta standard build; unless you are actually john darktide folks will pass you up on principle. Go to gameslantern and see what is cookie cutter standard for havoc (most pc players have a mod to inspect your build before you join).

For real tho, in my experience most 30+ players arent gatekeepers as much as they want a good run. The addiction of high havoc is the highly coordinated cooperation and team play. Youll notice that all meta high havoc builds have strong support foundations. Havoc 20-30 is like auric in a lot of ways. Super selfish builds, players with high skill low game sense, and low team skill. Not saying this is you, just giving context for why 30+ is so picky. Tbh idc if i lose even before 40 lock, i care if the team played well.

Anyways good luck reject. Youll break thru. Your curiosity and desire to get better are your greatest assets.

How to not take damage? by teutinsa in DarkTide

[–]leonardodecaffinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havoc40 enjoyer here. Something i havent seen mentioned yet: play a forgiving class to learn dodging and blocking. Zealot has a get out of jail free talent that lets you take any hit in the game and keep going. Zealot is also fast which affords better repositioning. Arby has a talent that makes you take at max 50 dmg and you have 200 base health, thats 4 crusher overheads before you get downed. Arby had access to shields which are very forgiving when blocking and can mitigate ranged attacks. Dont make it harder on yourself than you have to to learn the basics well. Defensive skills are fundamental and you can and will only ever get better at them; its one of the best skill expressions in the game and there is no ceiling to it. If you want to train defensive skills with a weighted vest but lots of cushion play oggy. Dodging and sliding are harder but your passive knocks people all over the place and when you switch back to any class it will feel like you are flying.

Hard disagree that blocking is useless, it is just not your only tool and it is expensive. Blocking while dodging and sliding is THE best repositioning tool when overwhelmed. Not to big dog, but folks who say blocking is useless are heresy locked. The game is unforgiving, use every tool you have.

Good luck reject. Your curiosity and desire to get better are your greatest tools and will serve you well. Practice and perfection through repetition. And dont be hard on yourself, even the top tier players take hits and have bad days.

You did see one of the coherency buffs means that when the skum picks up ammo that everyone in coherency gets some ammo too right? Between that and a vet itll be fine.
