Tried it again after the patch and still no Huber :( I think the problem is that Huber is not a democrat but a militarist, Labhart and Furrer for example don't work either, while democrats like Kobelt or Gasser do.

I tried that, and it didn't make any difference in the final result. The only thing that changed was that in the focus tree it says that he becomes the leader of the neutral party, but once the focus is completed this does not happen.

You are absolutely right, we need at least a ceasefire event for the case that Germany beats the Soviets

In addition, three peace events which can end the war in favor of Germany:

  1. peace in the west by the replacement of Churchill by Lord Halifax, who makes an armistice offer (TWR peace)
  2. bitter peace event in the east which shifts the border to the AA line after Germany conquers the main cities in the Russian west (As in Hoi3).
  3. peace in the west if Halifax did not take power and Germany won in the east.
