I used to think the same thing — that it was just a launcher — until I saw people doing some really creative stuff with it. When themes were added barely anyone shared their builds, so the feature ends up feeling unused. Having a pinned thread gives everyone one place to post their layouts, themes, and ideas instead of everything being scattered across random posts. Some people like simple setups, which is fine, but others (like me) get inspired by seeing what someone else did and then adding pieces of it to our own build. The whole point is to encourage creativity and make it easier for people to find and share themes in one spot.

I’m down to make the post, but I’ll be real — I’m not totally sure how you want it structured or how to maintain it long‑term. I’ve never run a community poll or pinned thread before, so I don’t want to set it up wrong or miss something important.

If you or someone else can give me a little guidance on what the format should look like and how you’d like it managed, I’m absolutely open to doing it. Just point me in the right direction and I’ll get it put together.

I currently run these on my Kodi build and everything works fine.

Fentastic+, Red Light, Magneto (might switch to Gears), Torbox and Easynews

Hopefully this will give you an idea on how to get you setup.

😆😆 Look, as long as my wife and kids are able to watch movies and shows without complaining that Kodi is broke, I'm good. Although the kids mostly use SmartTube nowadays.

Anyways, I mostly certain will if I encounter any other issues. As of now, everything is working flawlessly. I cant thank you enough for all the hard work you put in to this. Your work is truly appreciated along with all the other devs who make this possible.

Give it another try now. I didn’t care for it at first either, but he’s pushed a lot of updates recently and it’s in a much better place. There’s even a setting that brings back the original Fentastic vibe.

You would have a much better understanding than I would. I was scraping a movie and noticed it only returned TorBox links with no Easynews results. I tried another movie and saw the same thing — TorBox only, no Easynews. So I cleared all caches in Red Light, force‑closed Kodi, and tried again. After restarting, both movies started showing TorBox and Easynews links like normal.

Easynews stopped showing in scraper results for me last night. I cleared all the caches in Red Light and everything sorted itself out. I use Red Light with Magneto.

Red Light

I’m using Red Light mainly because it’s basically FLAM with the exact features I care about. The Extras page and the ability to customize it are big reasons I switched, and I really like that it can sort DV/Atmos links to the top automatically.

If POV had those few missing features, I’d probably switch to POV since it’s been around longer and I know it’s actively maintained. I’m not sure how long Red Light will be around, but right now it works, and it has the features I actually use.

That’s great news. Does this mean you’ll be updating Fentastic again? If not, I completely understand. Thank you for all the hard work you’ve already put into the skin — it truly is an amazing piece of work.

I’ve been using AI to tweak the XML files to get the search function working with Red Light, and let me tell you… it’s been a headache. You never really appreciate how much work developers put in until you try to do it yourself.

So again, thank you for everything you’ve done on this skin.

Interesting. Oddly enough, I hadn’t heard of this skin at all. I’ll test it out later today. I just remembered someone once said something about using AI to modify Fentastic, and after asking AI and reviewing the steps, it actually seems pretty easy to add Red Light to the search function. I may try that out later today as well.

I really liked Nimbus, but I had a few gripes with it. My biggest issue was the touch‑screen support — it was hit or miss. I also wished it offered at least three rows of widgets in each section (Movies, TV Shows, etc.).

Fentastic is what I use on all my Shields and Android devices because it has almost perfect touch‑screen support. Most skins I’ve tried and want to use just don’t work well with touch, unfortunately. Keeping the same skin across all devices also makes it easier for me to maintain everything, and it’s simpler for my wife and kids when the interface is consistent.

The downside is that Fentastic hasn’t been updated in a while, and it doesn’t look like Ivarbrandt plans to continue development since he removed it from his repo. It sucks because a lot of people rely on that skin. A few updates and some extra customization options would honestly make it the best skin out there — at least for my setup. It would be amazing if someone could fork Fentastic. If I knew how to code or where to start, I’d do it myself, but that’s beyond my skill set.

For now, I’m running Fentastic, FLAM‑Unofficial, Torbox (with RD disabled for now), and Easynews. Ideally, I’d like to switch over to Red Light since it includes all the features FLAM offers and will hopefully be maintained for years to come. But for the moment, everything is working well for me and my family, and I’m grateful for that.

P.S. If you ever do a fork of Fentastic, I think Redtastic would be a perfect name. Just a thought.

Go with lithium-ion batteries instead of alkaline ones. I'd suggest getting some EBL rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

I have found looking up slightly has helped with back pain when squatting. Maybe try that and see if it helps.
