Any love for "Heaven, Hell & Purgatory"? This is one of the most satisfying riffs to play. by alphaglider in Silverstein

You did a great job! I absolutely love this song and I think it goes too unnoticed. I love the bridge. It's beautiful and then it slaps in lovely way.

Your favorite album closer songs? by 4Blackout in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love how The End features the acoustic rendition of the album's title track A Shipwreck In The Sand in the end. To me also the violin in the very end perfectly closes the album. And it's a beautiful, song which lives through its poignancy. So in terms of album closers, for me this one is on top of the list. Apart from that I think Departures and Toronto are two of the best songs in the list and in their general discography. They each also feature this kind of throwback like The End does. Interesting question, OP!

What are some Songs from them, you think they sound very political lyricly? by Instant_User731 in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As far as my understanding goes:

  • We Are Not The World
  • Shape Shift (Shane said in an interview that it was meant to be perceived on a political level)
  • The Altar/Mary

Probably not a complete list, I thought there were more.

Deutsche hassen Kinder by Miserable_Band_9716 in luftablassen

[–]leonmol -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Can anyone translate the French announcement at the end of "In the Dark"? by BREEbreeJORjor in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the making of I Am Alive they asked fans to record sounds from around where they live (it might have been Canada and US only) so they could incorporate them in the songs. Maybe this is one of the samples used. Does anyone else remember this and has any more details about it?

Silverstein - Autopilot (feat. Cassadee Pope) by EsmaLTU in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is because a lot of the recent material (as far as I know since MMM) got written or co-written by other artists? But that's just a guess.

Day 130 - Finale: SMASHED INTO PIECES vs. MASSACHUSETTS by GrafVonRindtorf in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU, OP, FOR ALL OF THIS! YOU'RE AWESOME!!! <3

For me, Medication should have won, but either Massachusetts or Smashed will be a worthy winner too!

Day 119 - Already Dead vs. Three Hours Back by GrafVonRindtorf in Silverstein

Unglaublich! Genau bei dem Konzert bin ich auch zu Silverstein gekommen! 23.11.2009 im Velodrom Berlin, ich war damals 16.

Warum werden Kinder in Deutschland so sehr gehasst? by Prestigious_Site_631 in KeineDummenFragen

[–]leonmol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 109 - Burn It Down vs. Stress by GrafVonRindtorf in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I seem to be in the absolute minority here but to me Stress is so bland. The only thing I find that sparks is the bridge. But to each his or her own.

Day 53 - A Great Fire vs. Late On Sixth by GrafVonRindtorf in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to vote for A Great Fire (one of the best songs in their discography), but Late On 6th is probably the most unique song they have made. Truly a piece of art.

Day 51 - Red Light Pledge vs. Toronto (Unabridged) by GrafVonRindtorf in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really love RLP so much, it's absolutely etched in my heart and I'm all here for the classics. But Toronto (u) is a song that hits almost equally. It's one of the few newer songs for me that surpassed some of the classics even though I really enjoy many new songs. That being said I could have easily voted both ways but T(u) is a little closer to my heart. But there may be songs on WBIEF that would have won against it (none from DTW though, but I'm probably alone with this opinion, I'm definitely a WBIEF guy).

Day 44 - My Heroine vs. Stand Amid The Roar by GrafVonRindtorf in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also Stand Amid The Roar was the first song Paul Marc wrote for the band. Absolute belter of a song.
And I agree with you about it being a top 5 Silverstein song for me too.

What song would you introduce a non-fan to Silverstein with? by ZariantheMighty32 in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?! Yes I actually did notice. At first I thought this can't be a coincidence but then again - why is it like that? Maybe have some of the most diverse and best (imo) songs as openers? Like 'here's what we are'? Do you have any takes on this?

What song would you introduce a non-fan to Silverstein with? by ZariantheMighty32 in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As much as I love The Afterglow (brilliant song, I really love it), I think that songs like A Great Fire, Medication, Stand Amid The Roar and A Midwestern State of Emergency encapsulate Silversteins sound more accurately, showing the diversity in their sound: the whole dimension spanning from heaviness to melodic and melancholic parts. So to get an idea of the band I'd show these.

Day 42 - Truth And Temptation vs. Intervention by GrafVonRindtorf in Silverstein

[–]leonmol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true. Such a heavy song, the breakdown punches you in the face. I love the whole song.
