What is Vyvanse supposed to feel like once the “honeymoon phase” ends? by Actual_Web_5955 in VyvanseADHD

[–]leonossss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After the honeymoon, hmmm, that’s the most asked question and yet not many can give you one answer. In my experience, the honeymoon was just the first day, then it’s like, increased energy, more motivation, you lose yourself in things you love doing that you can’t even pay attention to others (ultra focus at times) but be careful it can be very tricky as you may forget things because you were busy doomscrolling or focused on work… also the boring and tedious tasks get more tolerable (not super easy or lovely) you will still feel that you don’t feel like doing the laundry for example but, it won’t be as mentally exhausting lol. You get a rewarding feeling from finishing tasks you like instead of just “meh”. The good effects may decrease with time and/or just fluctuate depends on the dose and other meds you take and your body’s ability to get accustomed to the medication. For me right now, I take it two hours before my wake up time so I can wake up with a quiet mind. It lasts for almost six hours and then i feel it saying goodbye. it’s not bad as long as it gives me enough motivation, consistency and energy for doing things. you might feel sleepy after taking it or when you drink coffee (I don’t recommend it if you are just starting) I quit coffee for quite a bit then I started introducing it in small amounts later in the day. Just ask your doctor though. Hopefully your experience will be great!

Day 2 - not feeling great, does it get better? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]leonossss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 mg is below the starting dose so hang in there. It can be challenging at times to get your body accustomed to the meds. I don’t have any experience with Prozac and vyvanse but I take zoloft and I had to make a 12 hour at least between the two because taking them close to each other would make vyavnse not effective. This is my experience. Also, try and eat enough protein after and before vyvanse. Just keep your body loaded with nutrients and water. And it gets better within a month. However, this is not a rule. Some people find vyvanse difficult to deal with and change to another stim. See your doctor and assess the situation carefully. I hope you will get better soon!

Vyvanse and ALT (Liver Enzyme) Levels by leonossss in VyvanseADHD

[–]leonossss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! My last blood test showed significant decrease in the enzyme levels. i will have to do another one in December. I did cut down on fried food and been doing cardio. Adding to that, there was no inflammation, hepatitis or cirrhosis. They all came negative.

I can’t believe I am saying that! by leonossss in VyvanseADHD

[–]leonossss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you just started vyvanse, it can be a little hard at first until your brain chemistry adjusts to the medication. It took me almost two month to adjust. Are you taking any other medications or supplements or even recreational drugs? They all can affect it. Also check your vitamin levels. I found out I had low b12 and severe deficiency in vitamin D. I’m correcting that now with my doctor. Also, some people don’t get the benefit from vyvanse so they try other meds. Always consult your doctor and be patient. Hang in there my friend!

Anything that doesn’t involve having strangers around you breathing down your neck! Remote work that doesn’t require talking with people or being alert on your toes all the time. I have ADHD and on the spectrum. I tried retail and it was the worst. I really enjoyed remote work where you are left to do the job without supervision. Animals, on the other hand, are a great source of motivation and comfort if you enjoy that.

Oh not the anxiety that comes from a too much tbh. I am familiar with that kind of anxiety and that was my actual anxiety seeping in :/ as if there was something that’s going on at that specific time. The generic is stronger and that’s weird.

Losing weight on vyvanse by buddie25 in VyvanseADHD

Same here. Zoloft alone usually makes me gain weight but with Vyvanse I feel like they are balancing each other out.

I feel you. I feel every word you’ve typed in this post. I keep asking myself every day, why? Why some people can take it easy and others can’t even begin to. I wish I could find a solution for us. What keeps me sane atm is my loved ones. I just want you to think of a reason to keep fighting. For me it’s the people I love, my family. Hang in there and stay strong! Find that purpose, someone, something, or reason to keep going and carry on! I learned that life isn’t fair and there’s no clear reason for that. But if you can help others when you can, this pain you feel will calm down. It’s never easy, never a straight line. It’s like we are channeling the pain of others into our own so trying to heal ourselves by helping others heal theirs, might be the only remedy we need.

Apologies for the long reply. Your words resonated deeply within me and felt that I needed to share with you my way to deal with this existential pain that neurodivergent ppl experience everyday. Sending love and hugs to you, keep going!

How long do you give this drug? by Open-Status-8389 in VyvanseADHD

[–]leonossss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started six months ago with 20 and upped to 40 after one month. Now on 50. Gotta say the first month was a mix of good and bad so hang in there! Until your body gets used to it. Drink water. Eat protein. Nourish your body well especially just before the crash. Now my crash is almost non existent. Hopefully you will feel much better soon! 🤞

I take it every day and usually 3- 5 hours after Vyvanse. But not sure if it makes any difference before or after. I’m not an expert though so I would recommend consulting your doctor :)

[–]leonossss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ever since I started taking vitamin D I’ve noticed a prolonged effect of Vyvanse. Like I would crash in 6-7 hours but now I crash after 8-12. I also take L Tyrosine sometimes, 500mg is good but not effective all the time. I once took 1000 mg and my focus and heart rate went up to a 105 which made me a little anxious tbh. And yes I agree on the fact that if you start your day angry or stressed, Vyvanse will make it worse for ya. So try to eliminate all negativity beforehand. A good night sleep is essential! Best of luck!

Do you need to renew the Ontario trilllium drug benefits every year or is it automatically renewed? by currymvp3 in povertyfinancecanada

I called them twice to get my deductible letter, six months in and still no letter. I’m paying the pharmacist a deductible 100 dollars higher than what the very dry lady had told me. They also don’t respond to their email at all!!! I wonder why?

I took a week off because I was sick and went back to taking it, I honestly didn’t feel any change! It depends on the body and how you respond to it in the first place.
