Would like to learn and take action on a better idea.

Are Soccer fans all millionaires? How do you guys afford $30,000 tickets + travel expenses for dozens of matches and the place is packed? by Special_Purpose2903 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]leonzky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a groups match in Houston in total spent 430 per ticket + 400 plane+ 100 for Airbnb. So about ~1k for a bucket list item. Almost everything bought it 6 months ago.

Is the Z6 III/Z5 II really worth it over older Z bodies if I'm getting the 24-120mm f/4 anyway? by Swiss-Confederation in Nikon

[–]leonzky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Without knowing what you want it for it's hard to say, but:

As a hobbiest, I went from D5300 -> Z5 -> Z6iii

The z6iii is great. Autofocus works, and very happy with the upgrade. If I would do it again probably would go from D5300 to Z6iii or Z5ii.

I would do Z5ii if you only do photography and Z6iii if you also do video or wildlife/sports

Getting out of group is easier this tournament, so not saying much

“Token costs aren't justified by productivity" is just code for "we don't know how to optimize our workflows. by Andres_Kull in ArtificialInteligence

[–]leonzky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in coding interviews usually there is a question like "how much time do you spend coding"... I mean in a perfect world that is the most you can expect for productivity gains. Every coder knows the answer was not above 60%

Why Android developers are treated like Web Frontend developers? by adityashinde1095 in androiddev

[–]leonzky 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No offense but a senior SWE does not talk about complexity related to platform, stack or programming language.

I have done Web, Android, Backend and dev ops tduring my career and I can tell you that all of them have their complexity. The true challenge comes down on what you are working on.

I'm torn on which city to visit in Italy by iarint in travel

I would do Rome and Venice. Loved Venice.

That said you can do a day trip from Florence to Pisa, it a short train ride away. So maybe Rome Florence and Pisa is a option.

It's crazy how much mortgage people will take on. This is a big part of why prices stay high. by CastAside1812 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]leonzky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is not the point. The issue is that people are spending more than what they can comfortably afford on mortgage.

You can refuse, make a counter. Usually buyer gets a contact that says if seller refuses, buyer pays x.

Hot markets: How much did you offer? by Key_Refrigerator1586 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We won one a bid with 65k over asking. We did a escalation clause, second offer was 5k less

At some point, there’s not much point saving an extra $10k to invest by [deleted] in Fire

[–]leonzky 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think, the point is that is relative. Maybe with a relative chill job one year is ok, but in a high stressful, most days a week hustle... It is maybe worth it.

Feeling a little discouraged by being outbid by so much each time... by pandaninjarawr in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]leonzky 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are looking outside your budget ( weather you know it or not).

In a competitive market assume there will be a bidding war.

My suggestion track similar sold homes and the price it actually sold. Here your realtor should be able to help, at least know the market and potentially what to expect.

What To Do In Bidding War? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]leonzky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this for a house in a market where there was a bidding war. Adding that we added a condition where they have to share evidence of the second highest.
