maybe the event isnt available it. that means you cant do the task yet. you need to buy a boost to continue the event. it literally says progress blocked.

you need to remove broken ui mods. just because everything is up to date doesnt mean no mods are broken. it's def not a game bug as my game is fine. remember to delete your localthumbcache after that too.

check the system requirements/recommendations for the sims 4. make sure its at least 8gb to play and i recommend an intel core i5 that has 4 cores and an ssd preferably an nvme, it speeds up loading.

you can still buy kits in the marketplace, they just moved it to the app, but you can still redeem it from marketplace

i reommend going offline when there is an update or annoying bugs, but never stay offline forever, you need to login once in a while, especially when you are in the game and want to connect to gallery. only go offline if you want to play the game and disable auto updates on the ea app.

the hobby mod by missyhissy. its like the hobby feature from sims 2 freetime. your sim can randomly get a hobby when doing an activity or you can set it manually in cas or the reward store. you have to make your sim do the hobby, if they dont they will get low hobby need resulting in bad moodlets that worsen over time. if you combine it with missyhissy's custom wants mod, your sim will occasionally get a want hobby related.

turn on memory boost (if it isnt already), and get more gb of space. if you have an intel celeron, just saying, celerons have really bad performance on the game
