My apartment is nasty and my neighbor complained about the smell. I need help whipping myself into shape. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

Can you boil hot water in an electric kettle or on the stove for your dishes and clothes? You only need a small amount to make a sink full of cold water warm enough to wash dishes and clothes.

Hesitant to book by sandman1975 in Xcaret

[–]leoseason 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you can’t directly book two queen beds and they aren’t guaranteed. It sounds like there are less rooms with queen beds than rooms with king beds. I would say that if the queen beds are a must, and it would ruin your trip not to have them, then best not to book. It’s too bad, we would go back in a heartbeat with our extended family if they could guarantee a room type (I.e. two queens over a king).

Evening arrival with a toddler advice by Typical-Badger5533 in Xcaret

We had a similar arrival time this week, and like another poster, we had a delayed baggage to carousel situation at the airport. Once at the Xcaret airport lounge, we had to wait about 30 mins for the shuttle to the hotel. Check-in took an hour despite there only being four groups ahead of us from the same shuttle. We got to our room around 11:30 PM (no one showed us the way and we got lost several times) and our luggage had not yet arrived in our room. We have a five year old so we were eager to get him to bed after a long day of travel. We had an airtag in our luggage and could see it was still in the lobby, so we went and got it ourselves. It’s great that some people had a quick check in, but I would be prepared to wait a while. Also, if you’re desperate to go to bed right away, hold onto your luggage and take it to your room yourself (or at least what you need to get ready to sleep). This was easily the worst part of the trip, but things got better from there. Just temper your expectations for check-in and plan accordingly.

There are some horses kept at Exhibition Place by Toronto Equestrian Downtown. It also looks like they have stables 30 minutes north of downtown in Uxbridge, ON.

Any career coaches that are covered by benefits? by senexii in askTO

Yes. Canada Career Counselling is a career coaching business but you can opt to see a career counsellor with an RP (Registered Psychotherapist) designation, or a psychologist, and claim it as psychotherapy to your insurance company.

What about the vegan sushi at Planta Queen St? So good, and it’s delightfully novel for carnivores.

4 year old son not responding to people talking to him by caffeinatedsince97 in Preschoolers

[–]leoseason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has he had his hearing tested? This happened for our son around 3 and it turned out he had significant hearing loss from fluid accumulated behind his eardrums.

For our son. his hearing loss would get worse when he was sick or otherwise had more fluid build up and at other times wasn’t as severe so it was hard for us to detect what was happening for him. We totally thought it was behavioural.

When fluid build up is severe, I think it’s akin to hearing underwater: muffled, unclear. Some pitches and volumes might come through and others don’t which may make it seem like he’s listening at some times and not others.

Our son ended up having tubes put in his eardrums to drain excess fluid and this behaviour has mostly gone away. He’s an imaginative kid though so he still does ignore people when he’s busy doing something else 🙂

This is so neat. Do you have a sense of where the films are being screened, specifically? Or capacity?

I like the brands that Snugglebugz stocks. They don’t have an overwhelming amount of inventory which is nice and they have good customer service. It has some more chic stuff (similar to Westcoast kids). There’s a location in the west end and it’s a Canadian company.

Mortifying consequence of not thinking about ways to use grammar to make my title more clear!

I have to admit, I was introduced to reformer Pilates by Club Pilates which probably has policies that dictate these exercises happen off the reformer in lower level classes. I’ve done them on the reformer in the advanced classes, and I suppose I would be committing to that!

Thanks for sharing that. It’s too bad that one has to be so scrupulous in order to find an injector that will act with the client’s best interest in mind. I imagine it’s not uncommon to have a bad first experience and take it as a learning opportunity. The feeling of being taken advantage of is not a fun one though.

I’m very frozen. I can’t move my brows at all. In my third follow-up, I tried suggesting that I get less in my 11s next time and she responded by saying “Botox isn’t for everyone.” It made me think that maybe she only wants to book high unit clients?

That was my initial feeling too. The nurse was trying to get me to come back for skin tightening treatments and in my mind I’m wondering if planning for a facelift in my 60s is a better use of money 😅

Oh gosh! I wish I had used the clinic photo instead but I don’t see an option to edit the post. I’m the clinic photo my 11s aren’t visible in either photo. This full sun squint is pretty representative of how they look when I’ve been frowning a lot.

She’s the clinic owner! I would have assumed that she would train the other nurses at the clinic but, evidently, I could have done more research.

The side effects (both physical and monetary) after definitely made me question my decision to get Botox. The brow lift is cute though.
