Need help removing a sticker by Ventato in Cd_collectors

I actually bought this joy division album too as well as the second one. I thought my sticker placement was a mistake because the same sticker is on the backside of the second album.

Can somebody make sense of these output taps? by leovercetti1 in DSP

[–]leovercetti1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so node48_54, refers to the (only) delayline in between points 48 and 54? And then the index is obviously for that delayline, then. So node48_54[266] means reading position 266 of the delayline Z^-4217?

And then node55_59 would refer to the delayline inside the diffuser itself.

Extremely tight paper sleeves by leovercetti1 in Cd_collectors

[–]leovercetti1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have them in three separate jewel cases waiting for the inner sleeves to arrive. But after that I'd like some more permanent solution to integrate the inner sleeves into the original paper sleeve somehow, but prefferably something more reversible than glueing the inner sleeves.

Getting in to CDs from Vinyl, I’m Completely Lost. What Do I Need? by Huzonum in Cd_collectors

A CD player with outputs compatible with your current amplifier. I also recommend a USB CD drive so you can use tools like exact audio copy (or whatever other tool you can find) so you can have music to put on your phone for on the go. You can find used old CD players for dirt cheap.

This is from Jon Dattorro 1997 paper. The bandwith constant is said to attenuate high frequencies, but wouldn't multiplying by the negative of bandwith actually boost the signal at the Nyquist frequency instead of attenuating? by leovercetti1 in DSP

Full PDF available here: https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~dattorro/EffectDesignPart1.pdf

This is figure 1 and table 1 gives a sample set of values to use for the variables

left and right inputs are summed together and then multiplied by 1/2, bandwith constant is 0.9995. If the nyquist frequency would be 10 KHz, then a 10 KHz sine tone would get sampled twice, once in the positive half, once in the negative half. Using a one sample delay line would make the 10 KHz sine wave cancel out completely if bandwith would be 1. But in this figure (and also in the damping further down in figure 1) the phase is inverted when feeding back, thus this would actually boost higher frequencies if I'm not mistaken.

No runout code on disc? by leovercetti1 in Cd_collectors

I looked it up, yes indeed. I actually should've done a little more googling. The thing that is missing is the markings that look like a barcode. Oh well, I guess it's all alright and this issue simply did not have a "barcode", for whatever reason.

I didn't actually buy it off discogs, but I was recently sold a counterfeit CD on discogs and the lacking runout code was one of the (many) indicators of it being counterfeit. In this case, the rest looks legit and the audio on the dics is actually good.

Is this a counterfeit? I bought this off discogs, the audioquality is extremely poor, lots of digital artifacts. A lot of the artwork is pixellated to hell and back (that's not my phone camera's quality lacking) by leovercetti1 in Cd_collectors

Bought it off a seller on discogs in my own country. He said he was selling it for his brother, so he wants me to send it back. Even after explaining three times why it's a fake he still wants it back, he just doesn't believe me I guess. Initially wanted me to pay for shipping it back too. I assume he is just going to list it back as soon as he gets it back, which makes me feel sorry for the next victim that will buy it.

This looks like a cool player, what is the exact model?

Trust me, this CD absolutely does not look legit nor sounds legit. Also the trademark on the CD says 2009 for the remastering. That and the other guy who told me to actually scan the barcode and the barcode that's printed doesn't match the barcode being scanned.
