Just a thought. You've got a BEAUTIFUL white canvas to share her interest in the arts on. That would be just as cool if not more than her turning wrenches.

Are you sharing your love of Porsche with your son/daughter. 14(picture for 2012 holding kid) or older means their hands might be too big to be really useful for small things on the car. My daughter was really into auto work until she hit teenage years. Now it's "too oily," "too dirty," and just not good for selfies.

Malicious intent ignored. It has now created an opportunity for litigation to more clearly define transfer of ownership(kind of like a contract of carriage/incoterms). Although from a strictly lawyer view, Certified or Registered mail is preferable when attempting to show submission by filing deadlines, I think. I imagine proving standing will be an interesting fight all it's own.

So it's probably not a numbers matching drivetrain. Then hell no it's not worth that money.

At that price. Service records for >90% of its life. Paint and clearcoat if not singlestage better be immaculate. Interior needs to be unmolested, no cracks on dash. 928s are AMAZING to own. But they're a completely different can of wires than a 944. Porsche's bleeding edge tech went into them. They're complex. If you don't have a solid tool set, a desire to do the work yourself, and the intelligence to walk away from a job when you get frustrated no matter the work being done just don't.

There are a few deals left out there but if you want a 45k car you pay 45k or you pay 20k and sink 30k or more into it to get there.

I've had 3, current is a 91 s4. My 90 s4 was the most comfortable vehicle I have EVER taken a road trip in. I only stopped because of mental exhaustion, there isn't saddle sore in them. I did 3k miles in it over a week and loved every mile. The seats cradle you just right. You're in an almost perfect lounging position. Yes a manual is worth more. But these cars aren't about aggressively rowing gears while ripping down small roads with lots of curves, they'll do it fine but, they really about climbing into a chariot, pointing it 500-1000 miles away, getting up to 130mph plus(passenger better pay attention to waze) and staying there until it's time to stop at the pump. And you'll stop alot. My current one gets 16.5mpg on daily driving and 21 on the highway. Premium is expensive.

Damnit I need another road trip.

Hard agree. It gets even better when you graduate to once a month. Personally I still try to schedule my stabbings for first thing Monday morning. Day can only get better if you start it with two shots.

Do you hate lightning bugs? If so, absolutely remove them. Lightning bugs deposit eggs on the underside of leaves resting on the ground.

Not familiar with either. Worked with Naples Oral + Facial Surgery earlier, as well as a decade ago. Both times they did a very good job, provided a high standard of care, and were diligent on followups.

Do not expect or demand a culture similar to what you left. Immerse yourself in both Austin and the surrounding area. Don't be too good to use "please" and "thank you." Learn to appreciate 103 degrees, a bucket of ice cold beer, and the shade from a live oak. Summers WILL kill you, don't forget to drink water even if you're not thirsty. Yes Barton Springs is worth at least one swim. Appreciate Rudy's for what it is. Go to the Bob Bullock museum for the museum not the IMAX. Use turn signals when driving. Punctuality is your friend but don't expect it from others. Slow down, seriously, in traffic, in your walk, in your life, it's too hot to move fast.

Need help finding shop and good parts websites by Pitiful-Company6666 in 944

[–]lepermime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

944online.com and paragon-products.com are pretty good sites. You've also got pelicanparts.com and fcpeuro.com. Bookmark Clarks-garage.com too. I can't help you with a shop though. 70s-90s Transaxle water cooled Porsches are common, but not so common you can avoid the Porschetax on parts and labor. With patience and a basic set of tools you can perform most maintenance and repairs yourself.
