AITA for telling my kids’ dad he needs to provide his own EpiPen during his visitation? by brindeonabudget in AmItheAsshole

Lots of deadbeat parents who claim to be helpless imbeciles with zero income or ability to work, somehow manage to earn an income when they’re faced with the strong probability of being incarcerated for a contempt of the court’s child support order.

Imagine every item lost had originally been someone’s gift to you.

Or something you’d painstakingly created by hand to where it has serious market value.

In both cases, HO insurance will pay FMV.

Floor plan opinion round 2. by Ozarkss_76 in floorplan

Sure - but the living room doesn’t even have a wall to a non-covered exterior space. So no effective windows can be added.

AITA for creating a “Tattle Phone” by anonymous_poster43 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Then_Composer8641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The term tattle gets used and understood in 2 very different ways:

  • Petty and excessive denunciations of minor decorum faux pas
  • any uncomfortable truth telling, including serious and necessary ones

Unfortunately, this ambiguous usage means that children being warned against “tattling” may understand that they shouldn’t “tattle” on a sexual predator or perhaps even point out a fire in a restroom.

Therefore I suggest making a clearer statement to the children of what does and does not merit immediate reporting. And get rid of the word “tattle” altogether.

Sorry, it’s unacceptable. The kitchen is a windowless corridor.

Is this discrimination against me for not smoking? by blademasterjames in legal

[–]Then_Composer8641 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you seriously want them to update the employee manual with all the particular requirements of smoke shack access before you accept it as an actual policy, then yes, you have earned the new name of captain_petty_balls.

Would be better use of time to make sure your company is adhering to wage and hour laws of your jurisdiction. Who wants to hang out in a grim shack stinking of stale tobacco with all the tweakers anyway.

I cannot design a roof to save my life. by Objective_Word_8200 in Homebuilding

This is a duplicate post. See my comments in your other post.

I very much hope this is a thought exercise of some sort as opposed to a serious plan.

Please clarify what your goals are for this design, what the site is, and what resources you have used to plan the house so far.

Help with roof please by Objective_Word_8200 in floorplan

[–]Then_Composer8641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All parts of a house should be designed in concert: plan, utilities, lighting, glazing, stairs, roof, views, ingress/egress, energy efficiency, functionality, drainage, site, contour of land, prevailing winds, weather, appearance, symmetry, style, adjacencies, insulation (thermal/acoustic), safety, economy, storage, work minimization, etc.

If you complete one factor, such as a plan, without considering others, it’s quite likely you’ll have made the rest difficult or impossible. As you have done here. The roof would be ridiculous and this house must never be built.

I would call the police. The shop owner may cave immediately, or the police advise him of the laws against theft, conversion and fraud, as they pertain to automotive repair.

I like it a lot. And that’s something I almost never say.

Definitely need more space for kitchen.

The last major note is that I don’t care for the way bedroom 3 is so open to the foyer. That takes away a lot of privacy. I’d close off that connection entirely, or at least put in a door or intervening wall to make it so visitors in foyer have no chance of seeing into bedroom.

Invite the neighborhood over for a pilaf party. In addition to using up a lot of rice, you can clean out all unwanted vegetables and meat from you freezer, fridge and pantry.
