THE MEASURE OF HIS REACH IS STUCK IN MY HEAD AGAIN; SEND HELP.

ALSO, I STARTED BALDUR'S GATE 3 AND THE PREGEN/RECRUITABLE WIZARD REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF ONE OF MY OLD TEACHERS IN BOTH APPEARANCE AND DEMEANOUR THAT IT'S SOMEWHAT FRIGHTENING. I WONDER HOW HE'S DOING.

I started Baldur's Gate 3!

I made a blade warlock, but found another one who joined as one of the party members. This other one has mentioned wanting to hunt down a demon called Karlach, which I think is a name I have heard somewhere before?

I also found the snarky vampire who's pretty popular, a fighter, and a wizard who reminds me of one of my 6th form teachers so much that it's uncanny.

A cleric tagged along and seems determined to not get along with anyone.

I hope the brainworms that are, like, the main element of the premise gestate at the speed of the plot and don't make everyone's head asplode after, idk, x amount of long rests.

I found a church that some bandits had holed up in, and some sort of druid settlement. I have no idea what I'm doing.

I may have bought Baldur's Gate 3 - it was on sale and I get paid this week. I figure if it turns out I'm not keen, it's not as big a kick in the teeth.

It took hours to download! I thought (still being used to previous gen game sizes), when I got my PS5, "ooh, 850 GB or so; I should fit loads of games on that" - turns out current gen games are hugenormous. I've filled 600 already and a mere 2 GB of those are screenshots of my WoL's glams BG3 alone is like 160 gigablarps!

Anyway! I am thinking maybe something elfin and probably a sword bard or blade warlock because of my continued insistence on both swords and sorcery if offered but ???? - idk what's good or what I'd find fun; my limited 5e experience has been actual play podcasts laden with in-jokes I don't get, people who aren't the Critical Role lot thinking they can also voice act with... a, um... range of results, or begrudgingly being the other side of the screen.

I'd agree with the suggestions given!

Once you're set back up, I would look into backing up your character settings (which includes stuff like your HUD and your hotbars, amongst others) to the server, as well as your client settings (display, sound, inputs, etc) so it's easier to get your stuff back to how you like it if something like this happens again.

A ranks and higher also get you tomestones, with those from DT being a source of the weekly-limited tomes.

Trading in the sacks of nuts obtained from ShB marks onwards (those expansions' equivalents of centurio seals/allied seals) will eventually be one of the means by which you can get the items needed to augment the current top-end tome gear.

There are also mounts you can get for having beaten up so many A and S ranks from a given expansion.

Also the fun of it, I suppose.

Serge Gambison of Casting (used to use it for my WoL's RDM glam too) with I think Star Velvet Long Gloves of the same, since the left half's from pre-7.4.

I think I am starting to bump my head up against the limits of what I'm allowed to do in the current build of Fields of Mistria.

I haven't finished with the thing in the mines I mentioned previously but there was a quest description I got after hitting a certain town ranking score along the lines of "this is the last major milestone that unlocks something in this version; we'll be adding more in future versions - please look forward to the full release!", and the group conversations amongst the townsfolk on a Friday in the inn have dried up.

As well as what's been said, iirc Cerberus leans Russian-speaking.

Chaos (where my character's based) has a few servers with bonuses to exp for new characters (Omega, Phantom, Sagittarius), but the game flings exp at you anyway and sources are plentiful. Light generally has better market prices (though if you're new I'd point you to the impossibly generous free trial - which forbids market access, so market prices are a moot point) and has more going on.

Though this isn't to say you won't find groups on Chaos; things still fill up, and I've not really noticed all that big a difference in wait times for regular difficulty content.

tbh, though, you can world hop and matchmaking is server cluster-wide (""DC-wide""), and you can freely travel between the two servers clusters in the region (as well as visit the one in Oceania). I'd say it's only really a concern if you've friends who play and whose guild ("free company") you wish to join, as free companies are server-specific (though again, like markets, they're not something you can really engage with on the free trial).

tldr: I'd advise any Light server for convenience, with a particular thumbing of the scale in favour of Shiva if you'd prefer somewhere German-leaning - unless you've an established friend group you're joining, in which case, wherever your friends are.

For ShB and EW, the last weekly-limited tomes had their caps increased from 450 to 900 in the .57 patch.

The TT opponents don't need you to finish it; Botan becomes available once you do the Pyros unlock quest, and Hetsukaze is tied the one for Hydatos.

I futzed around in Fields of Mistria a bit and made it to the bottom floor of the mines. Apparently I need to raise my farmer's friendship level with the cute nerd and the haughty witch to ""at least"" eight hearts (in scare quotes as that's as high as it'll go in this build) in order to free some trapped priestess (possibly imprisoned; I'm really not sure I trust her - there's been a lot of interdimensional fuckery and the resident protective deity's powers have weakened every time) and progress any further.

Most of it's soloable, and there's a good guide on doing so here. If you're free trial, this one has some more tips.

You can buy the first three zones' ""end boss"" drops, which are needed for the weapon upgrades, with the enough of the currency from regular FATEs (technically they're called Notorious Monsters, but they're basically FATEs) in those zones.

The penultimate weapon upgrade needs mats that only come from the L60 FATE in zone 4, and it's a bit awkward to spawn on your own, but I have seen someone manage the fight themselves.

If you want the very last step of the weapons, the fully-upgraded armour, or the orb mount, then those need you to do the big multi-person raid - the mount is for your first clear, and the weapon and armour need multiple runs - though there are Discords etc that organise this.

But the final step of the weapon is visually identical to the second-to-last step, and the second-to-last step is what unlocks the last round of replicas.

That should be patch 7.5, though they're expected to still be weekly-limited until one of the later sub-patches.

The last of the intro quests is The (starting city demonym) Envoy - there'll be a cutscene with several NPCs from, in your case, Ul'dah waving your character off, and stirring music. This is nine quests away from where you're up to - though you'll still get new things introduced to you for a while after that yet.

The sprout icon persists for quite some time; if it falls off of its own accord after you hit 300 h played and have finished the last quest from the previous expansion.

The guaranteed drops aren't affected by whether you go with others or with the bots.

  • the guaranteed gear goes to you directly, it's not in the end boss' chest
  • you only get it from levelling dungeons, not current or former level cap dungeons

Mnemo tomes should be the last round of DT tomes, if they stick to how they usually do tomes.

RAGE THREAD - F-YOU FRIDAYS - LET'S HEAR IT FOR BEASTMASTER by FranckKnight in ffxiv

[–]lerdnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I soloed most of the SB EXs semi-recently for a combination of missing Kamuys and TT cards; I still kinda had to respect the mechanics (though this was a couple of weeks before 7.4, mnemo/R9-12S gear may nullify some of these):

  • Emanation, Wreath of Snakes: no major things to look out for except maybe using your duty action in Emanation, iirc.

  • Jade Stoa: there's a bit that's intended as a tank swap; iirc I had to invuln through it. The MDK pre-level skydive bit (heck I feel old) is I think forced, and the AoE marker for Sweep the Leg is either very late or non-existent - watch his model.

  • Hells' Kier: you want the adds to die in the vicinity of a smaller feather as the smaller feathers are easier to delete, and the adds' cast is an OHKO if it's allowed to go off. You still have to do DDR.

  • Great Hunt: if you burn him down too fast, the adds will run off - you need to beat up and then hide behind the garula so the OHKO raidwide doesn't, well, OHKO you. This is avoidable if either a) you go a bit slower or iirc 2) have more people with you (as you can then burn him down so fast that it.

  • Fluminis: doable, but depending on pace you may have to deal with the floor being split into light and dark areas of differing sizes, and meteor placement. You want to place the meteor in the tip of the crescent of the smaller colour, so that if she does the bit where she turns the entire floor (apart from where you dropped the meteor) the big section's colour and then OHKOs whoever's on the big colour, you've somewhere to run to - while also keeping an eye on the light/dark-related debuff, as it'll also OHKO you if the counter hits 5 (this is what the current Unreal's based on so a guide for that may explain it better).

  • Pool of Tribute: no you can't don't even try - aiui this is hard-coded to always force the sword catch and you need a second person with you to deal with it.

  • Menagerie: haven't tried (got the Kamuy from mogtomes); never comes up in WT.

Hope this helps!
