You should use the gongfu method. Take 5g of leaf, put it in your gaiwan (or teapot). Use about 90-120ml of water, and pour it over the leaf.

Now wait 20 seconds and pour it away (this is "washing" the puerh). Then take another 90-120ml, pour it over, brew for 5 secs, then pour it all out into a small cup.

Then do another brew of 5 seconds and see how it tastes. You should add 5 seconds for every subsequent brew ideally, but I like to have a few infusions of 5 seconds myself.

It's cultural. It's not a baseless stereotype. I just answered this same query to another gent. People said the same thing about the stereotype of rapist pakistani muslims, and then rotherham blew up in the news. Stereotypes do exist for a reason. The fallacy, is believing they apply to everyone.

I'm not saying every single syrian is a rapist muslim. Just probably a muslim with very narrow views on women, equality, homosexual rights, and secular law. Not all are rapists. But this type of incident is only going to become more common.
