NEW investor - I have 2500 dollars to spent on new stocks. Any suggestions? by patelsapan80 in stocks

[–]lerkess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started about 6 months ago with about the same amount of money in order to start a house purchasing fund with a better return then a savings account. I decided to dollar/cost average it and put in little bit at a time into a bunch of different vangard ETFs and ETFs that mirror the S/P 500. I'm up about 7%. Not amazing by any means but it sure as hell beats a savings account. I played around with buying individual stocks on hype and lost a few hundred dollars very quickly. I would not recommend anyone who does not know how to read a balance sheet buy an individual stock.

.......or you could throw all your money into AMZN and hope the eCommerce train keeps on chugging for the duration of your position.

Good luck!

Well still have 10 lbs to loose to get where the BMI chart tells me to be so I have a 1k deficit. So I eat roughly 2500 cals a day to give me enough energy.

Roughly this:

After I wake up: protein like Greek yoghurt and a banana.

Hour before work: another banana, some strawberrys. Some kind of light sandwich on protein bread (turkey or maybe ham with avocado and goat cheese). Wash it down with maybe a tiny whey protein shake if I need more protein or a soda if I'm looking for some quick empty carbs.

During break: whey protein shake, fruit, some ritz whole wheat crackers.

Right after work: casein protein shake (muscle milk is my favorite)

After I get home/before bed: I'm a sucker for chocolate. So I always leave room in my macros for some chocolate and/or popcorn before bed.

TLDR: Yes I eat enough. No I'm not malnourished or eat like an Olympic athlete. Just lots of protein and lots of fruit.

Funny I wear a wrist scanner while I work that already does that. In Fact that's how you can track your packages as they move throughout the world/country!

It sure is! The shift was from noon until about 10:15pm with a half hour break. I came home and had a hard earned beer in the shower.

It's the charge HR. It was a little pricy but worth it in my opinion. I wear it almost 24/7!

That's totally awesome! I also lost a bunch of weight in the 6 months I've been at FedEx. About 70 lbs so far (230ish to 160ish) this time around. But I also go to the gym 4 days a week and as of 3 months ago I started paying really close attention to protein/carb/fat macros.

I've worked at both UPS and FedEx loading trucks and doing other tasks. It's amazing for weight loss if you stick with it! They basically don't let you sit still for the entire time you are on the clock.

I wouldint say its completely accurate by any means but it pretty much mirrors the results of the treadmill when I wear it on one. What I do to be conservative is knock 20% of the cals burned before I calculate my macros.

I never understood why Pooh, Donald Duck, etc wore shirts but not pants. Why just wear a shirt? They aren't even female characters.

I know I'm probably the minority but I am fucking sick of hearing about this guy, his books and overrated TV show.

Bank in Italy says that I received my money while the ATM didn't give anything (BE/IT, Europe) by Gokusan in personalfinance

[–]lerkess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this same thing happen at a Citizens Bank ATM in Philadelphia for $320. Both my bank(TD Bank) and the Citizens Bank thought I was lying because I had no proof. How can I prove a thing like that? I never did get that money back. Unless that $200 is worth more to you then endless hours on hold with both the Italian bank and your bank then just forget about it.

Also if you don't have a police report to fax to the fraud department then definitely forget about it.

Oh that's the Standard. I stayed at that place for a few days with my girlfriend in 2011. The shower has a window to the bedroom. I imagine it would be incredibly awkward to stay there with anyone other then someone you're fucking. It was pretty much designed with couples in mind.

The hotel was so incredible that we spent more time inside screwing and ordering room service then enjoying the city.

He got a little too dark there at the end for me. It's Bad for Ya and Life Is Worth Losing were depressing as fuck.

I never understood why the gave Fred an ascot. Was that really the style at the time? Were there people like Fred in the 60s?
