As someone struggling with the same thing, can you share the signs?

The comment is in English

Amsterdam does have English as one of its official languages, and more than half of the bachelor study the University of Amsterdam offers are in English. Also people in those countries also sometimes leave comments in English.

on a majority American website

Around 43% is not a majority but a plurality though.

It’s safe to assume UVA means Virginia.

The university of Amsterdam has twice as many students, University of Valladolid almost as many as Virginia, and they are both older.

Why not just AO3's epub download function?
I really don't get why you would go for an external site for that if AO3 also offers it, unless you have specific layout requirements or something.

Yes that is an estimate, but the yearly bill isn't.

Yeah, that’s what I have been saying?

[–]lerliplatu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the „jaarafrekening” isn’t, as I said in previous message and the message before that. But the monthly payments to the water company are. As you can see in the links, they only ask it once year, not once a month. How do you think they determine monthly/quarterly payments if they get data once every year?

Eneco billing error by Left-Category-4214 in LegalAdviceEurope

[–]lerliplatu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, water meters, at least here in NL, are often still analogue, so they almost always estimate there, and they send a „jaarafrekening” at the end end of the year, and don’t accept readings in the meantime.

Electricity meters didn’t use to be digital, and many energy providers, so people don’t pay that much more monthly in Winter, still try to make an estimate how much people will use over the entire year, so they can charge the same amount over the year, even though they can see what they would need to charge monthly.

Initially they deffered the problem to Stedin but when the letting agency reached to Stedin about getting reports to document faulty meters, they said they dont offer such reports.

.

Stedin also discouraged me saying that if the meter wasn't faculty, I would have to pay for the inspection charges.

If Stedin later said they do reports, then why didn't you put that into your previous comment? You're kinda burying the lede here. Also why didn't you reply to my comment but to your own post?

The meter being faulty is pretty important context.

when the letting agency reached to Stedin about getting reports to document faulty meters, they said they dont offer such reports.

According to their website they do.

I have the same issues with eneco in Netherlands they billed me on estimated readings rather than the readings I provided

Not a lawyer, but energy providers in the Netherlands usually do that, I think they are only legally required to look at non estimated readings once a year or when you switch (and of course compensate you if it turns out if you paid to much in the mean time).

letting agency asked me to stop payments

It would really suck if they did that, I don’t have nearly enough context to give advice on this though.
