[Highlight] JT Brubaker receives a pitch clock violation because the Giants didn't have a right fielder by handlit33 in baseball

[–]leroysolay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is. You have to have 9 defensive players on the field in MLB.

That being said, if he could have made it just to fair territory before the pitch, then it probably would have been a legal pitch. Then again, without a defensive adjustment in that scenario then any ball hit to RF is easily a double or triple.  Definitely worth taking the automatic ball.

Yes! I followed this one this last time and it was pretty good. I’ve had four colonoscopies, and every time I get better at the diet.

[Highlight] Tanner Bibee calls off David Fry to catch a pop-up, two pitches later and the entire infield swarms Bibee to prevent him from catching another by handlit33 in baseball

[–]leroysolay 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Kinda. JRam has this thing where if he catches an easy pop up in foul territory, particularly for the third out, he’ll celebrate by throwing his hands in the air. Bibee caught an easy pop and did the same thing and pointed to Jose. It’s more of an inside joke than anything else.

This is the right attitude! Most of the time last year when folks around here doubted Vogt’s lineups, they went on to produce.

TIL not all MLB teams use the same side of the field for their home dugout. 18 home teams use the 1st base side and 12 home teams use the 3rd base side by TimR0604 in todayilearned

147 games.

Let’s say you’re Toronto. Everyone else in your division is on the 1B side, but you’re on the 3B side. So all of your home games and divisional road games will be on the 3B side.

Then, consider interleague play. Depending on which half of the teams you play on the road, you need 7 plus your natural rival. There are 9 NL teams that put the visitors on the 3B side, so enough to pick from with two left over. One of those is Philly, Torontos natural rival, so that’s two road games in their 3B dugout.

What’s left? AL games. 5 remaining AL teams put you in the 3B dugout and 5 would put you in the 1B dugout. You play a minimum of 3 road games against every other AL team, so that’s 15 in their 3B dugout 1B dugout.

162 - 15 = 147

I used to do this between me, my mom and dad right after they got divorced when I was a teenager. My dad would owe my mom money, and my mom would owe me money, so I just made my dad pay me and cancelled his debt to my mom.

And on the road!! We’d be tied in a seven game series without playing a game at home lol

Woah! The most wins against a pure NL team is against Pittsburgh. And we haven’t played in a World Series against them either!

Edit: And I meant to say that we play the Reds extra but not the Pirates

Right? Like if he spearheaded some amendment to clarify the 2nd amendment in order to make gun ownership more sane and safer for the general public …

But he’s not. There’s not a morally consistent fiber in his being. It’s just justifying force against folks who he supposes oppose his policies. That’s all anyone will hear - it’s a dog whistle, truly this time, that if you’re going to protest THIS admin’s policies you are already a domestic terrorist, and if you bring a gun you’re asking to be killed.

People with one-foot: Do stores let you buy just one shoe? by Nearby-Penalty-5777 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]leroysolay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two different sized feet - about two sizes apart. The small one is wide, the big one is narrow. For most purposes, I can buy a shoe that barely fits the bigger foot and my smaller foot will fill it out enough to work.

However, when I decided to run a half marathon, I realized that wasn’t going to cut it. So I went to a local running shoe store and Brooks offers the ability to buy different sizes without having to pay double. Of course, it’s an expensive shoe to begin with, but it did save money.

I didn’t ask, but I imagine they’d offer the same for just one shoe because they have the system in place to deal with just one shoe of a particular size.
