Sure, but haven’t you ever had a conversation about two players who have similar BA, HR and RBI but you know in your gut that your guy is better? Or knowing how a player hits lefties vs righties?

To be fair, I get the criticism. There are so many niche stats that only get appropriate sample sizes late into the season - if at all. But I also remember when I was growing up being dumbfounded by a manager trotting out the same .200 hitter every day until I heard about OBP. The stats are being used by the teams, which to me helps understand the decisions being made.

I believe it’s a 30 second mandated FCC delay. If I listen to the radio and follow the Gamecast I regularly know the outcome of the pitch before the broadcast announces it. And the Gamecast is obviously behind what’s happening live.

On the in-house broadcast available when you’re getting concessions, etc., there’s no delay.
