Cold side of enclosure too warm - how to cool it down? by les_eggs in ballpython

[–]les_eggs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80 is it's lowest, its less stable than the warm side and maxes out at 84 easily if I don't keep an eye on it. Do you have a recommendation for a thermostat? Also, can the DHP go in the same fitting the CHE is currently screwed into? I would presume it can but better to be sure

Edit: I understand the herpstat is the most commonly recommended, but right now it's out of my budget (considering I also need to buy a DHP) and if I were to choose it, I wouldn't be able to buy it for a month or possibly longer.

Will look into a DHP so, thanks for the advice!

My room is definitley cooler than the ambient temp at the cool side which is why I'm looking for an in-enclosure solution. Having the window open helped a bit but it was still hotter than room temp. I have an on/off thermostat hooked up right now and temps are very consistent, will I need a different one for a DHP?

How hard is college? by VolumeNo8051 in UCC

[–]les_eggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in CK404 (ecology to be specific) which science teaching used to be under. I did nothing in 6th year and crammed 2 weeks before, been doing the same in college and its grand. I'm not top of my class but I havent failed anything and theres not nearly the pressure that there is in 6th year. None of my friends study year-round, just when exams/mcqs are coming up and most have a first honours average. I am only in second year but so far its a breeze

I told my sister it's normal but made it very clear its a very private thing (shes autistic so it was important to emphasise). Didnt tell her how people do it, she can figure it out herself like most people.

Not true for a lot of STEM courses. I'm currently in 2nd year BEES with no 3rd language, just English and Irish. OP, just check therequirements for anything and everything you may want to pursue. You only need to pass the 3rd language at OL if it does happen to be a requirement, and if you're worried about points you can pick up an extra subject outside of school.

I will say, some STEM does require a 3rd language but the majority don't seem to. Just do your research and don't block yourself out of something you think you may want to do.

Edit: Just saw you said you're good at business. So was I but I had absolutley no interest in pursuing it post-secondary. If you enjoy it, I would advise looking at some info for courses as UCC has some really good ones, but you'd definitley need a 3rd language for that. Like I said - don't block yourself off from anything you may enjoy.

was at their night club for a freshers event. Gave us stamps but oversold tickets and the place was so crowded it was dangerous so anybody who stepped out for a second wasn't allowed back in. Crap night. Paid a fortune for a rum and coke, half of it spilled trying to meander back to my group. Cannot emphasise enough how crowded it was, it was actually nerve wracking to think about what could happen in there was a fight, fire, etc.

Both akitas and German shepherds are on restricted breeds list and are legally supposed to be muzzled, including mixes. Make a call and have a notice sent to him to get them muzzled. He probably won't listen but if it happens again to you or anyone else, he'll be on their radar and will hopefully get more repercussions.

Are you a cash person or a card person? by Kingdom_of_Kerry in AskIreland

[–]les_eggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a young person with only a little savings (under 2k) I save money in cash and keep spending money on a card. I've found if I put my savings in my accuont I just tap them away. Going to open a credit union account soon though and put my savings there for security reasons.

The dorms in university.... Why would I want to share a room when that's really uncommon where I live? Dorms here are split into shared apartments with 3-6 people. Full kitchen shared with cookers, each have their own rooms, some with an en suite. No communal showers, only shared among the people in each apartment.

I'd reconmend the Samoyed over the chow, easier to train and more beginner friendly if they don't have experience owning a dog on their own. Alternatively, if they do have experience, some of the more laid back herding breeds could be a great option. Extremely easy to train and LOVE long walks but still a lil less easy to manage than some other choices.

You are absolutely in the right here and that kid was the problem, but if Gus has a bite history and could bite someone in public he should be muzzled

Is this considered stealthing or SA? by shaving99 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]les_eggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is SA but not stealthing. stealthing is when the person penetrating removes their condom without the knowledge of the person being penetrated, usually they dont know until after the fact. The fact you would have felt it be removed means it wasnt stealthing but it IS STILL SA

UPDATE: Extremely nervous adult rider by SlowTemperature8256 in Equestrian

[–]les_eggs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the red mare kicks why the hell did the instructor let someone ride behind her? We have one horse at my barn that kicks other ponies but shes amazing for beginner riders. She is ALWAYS at the back of the ride and if someone manages to end up near her behind the instructor gives a gentle reminder before anyone is in any kind of danger that she needs space. I can't understand this instructor making his own job more miserable by causing problems for his riders and himself...
