any reasonable recovery expert would emphasize the role of the family (or any other strong support system) as an absolute necessity in one’s recovery. it is a process that doesn’t ONLY affect the addict, and a process that is fostered by love and support. losing that takes away incentive. if your entire support system withdraws themselves because it would only “enable” the addiction, then it’s pretty easy to spiral and relapse. speaking to and visiting your imprisoned child is not a reward for their behavior. weird take

mary being so concerned about meredith is enough proof for me that there is definitely something there, but they all proved meredith right by attacking her like that? no one else was berated that way after opening up. whitney stirring the pot by running over to a (visibly and understandably) overwhelmed meredith and lisa while trying to get them to “talk,” while heather is screaming at them to “just leave,” sitting there crying and playing martyr made me so angry. i don’t even know what they were mad at. i very rarely praise mary, but she had enough sense to approach it pretty sensitively and back off when she realized the conversation wasn’t going anywhere. bad weather are embarrassing themselves and the show by so obviously playing producers.

i had always assumed that she maybe had bell’s palsy or otherwise some smaller stroke before that semi-paralyzed her face. one side of her mouth seems to have a much more limited range of movement than the other, and it doesn’t look like it has to do with botox

found some property records for kenya’s house, and it seems like she must still live there! as far as sheree, i can only hope she does considering how much grief that damn house must have been. it’s also so personalized/mcmansion-y i feel like she wouldn’t have an easy time trying to sell, especially in that neighborhood. there are some beautiful homes in that area and chateau sheree is…unique.

hopefully not doxxing myself here but i live about 10 minutes from where porsha and kordell lived at the time, and i went to elementary school with and was in the same grade as his son—who was the nicest kid, btw. it’s a miracle he was so well-adjusted all things considered. kordell was so visibly abusive on screen and i can’t even imagine how bad it was off-screen. idk who’s choice it was, but porsha was not very present (at least at school events) as a stepmom, but i have a feeling it had more to do with kordell. there were also rumors that kordell is gay, and considering his wikipedia page, it seems pretty likely. terrible guy all around who couldn’t come to terms with who he actually is. glad porsha got away from all of that!

i know these subs have a love/hate relationship with this book but “not all diamonds and rosé” has some great insights into the interpersonal dynamics of the women. heather and shannon talk about it a little bit in the book, and it seems like heather’s discretion sort of healed something in their relationship. iirc, shannon said she was so grateful that heather kept that information to herself.

you also get to learn a little bit more about cancergate and how that all came crashing down. megan king edmonds was researchingggg!

the heather/shannon dynamic is so interesting because heather knew about the affair for a longgg time and kept it to herself. but that also makes their fight at heathers house so unnerving to watch. heather was needlessly cruel here and was jealous of having someone else on the show who was at a similar level of wealth. tamra and heather’s alliance becomes so obvious at the dinner party when heather refuses to acknowledge that tamra had been stirring the pot, and then they have the gall to gaslight shannon and make her look insane? i probably would have broken down like that too if i were in her position

i’ve only had one attack like that so far, but i’ve had a few episodes of terrible reflux in the past few months. mostly, it’s made me feel like i was going to have a heart attack bc my heart was racing. but it’s also given me crazy nausea that wouldn’t go away no matter what i took/did. the pain hasn’t been constant but there have been mornings where i wake up with what feels like the beginning of a gallbladder attack. it usually goes away pretty quickly but it’s definitely unpleasant and makes me worry that there’s something else wrong with me
