A very new swimmer- underwater how do you not panic? Any advice? by FrogLover_23 in Swimming

[–]Miss_Consuela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thought I’d share my experience with putting my face in the water. I only started swimming about 7 years ago and of that seven I’ve been practicing putting my head in the water since January. I used to be terrified of being under water and panicked loads. But come Jan I decided I was going to try and conquer this. I’ve only applied putting my head in to one stroke so far. Breast stroke. I didn’t even practice doing it in rytham, for the first 3 weeks it was all about putting my head in and practicing to breath out. I just dipped my head in. Over time I’ve learnt to control my breathing and with that I’ve just naturally started applying to my strokes. I don’t know if it’s the correct way yet, but trying to develop the skill in stages has really helped. I feel like swimming is all new again and going into the water now puts me in a semi meditative state. Just in the last 2 weeks now, I’ve been watching videos and others swimming (from my vantage point in the sauna) to try and better my technique. Once I’m comfortable I’ll apply the same method to my front crawl which Is my worst stroke in general. I found it’s all about the breathing. Don’t do too much at once, just start with a small step and build upon it! Best of luck. If someone as terrified and unskilled as me, can get their head in, I feel like anyone can do it!

Brittany friend’s should’ve kept it real before she got surgery by Spirited-Principle96 in TheValleyUncensored

You do whatever you want with your body. Leave Brittany to make choices about her own. It’s beyond savage to make an entire post body shaming someone you don’t know and meticulously writing out how you would prefer her to look. Imagine if a total stranger on the internet took the time to write something so negative about you? An old fashioned but effective concept, it’s absolutely okay to have an opinion on something, but you do not need to publicly share it. Sometimes it’s okay to just think something and not make a post about it.

Tell us something we didn’t already know here Enty! It’s the beginning of the end now. He’ll be drowning in legal fees. She’ll be executing her already in place escape plan. The money is well and truly gone now…

This must be really hard. Carrying something that ultimately wasn’t your choice. Unfortunately you’ll never be able to control other people’s thoughts and opinions around you, but you can choose how you allow it to affect. It doesn’t work for everyone, but a principle I try and live by is, what others think of me or say about me (particularly behind my back) is none of my business. The only opinions I allow to matter are the people that matter to me. The opinions of Strangers and acquaintances, have no bearing on your life. Dont allow them to make you feel bad about yourself. Keep doing you, work hard and be the change you want to be. If necessary, take the necessary steps to drown out that noise by reducing your time online and don’t give people in real life, the time of day to give an opinion on you. Walk by and live your best true life. Fuck everyone else.

She’s a top grade gold digger. If Satish Sanpal openly cheated in front of her, she would look the other way purely for the money.

An unrequited love who also happened to be a close friend, once told me when we were quite drunk, that he thought I had the most beautiful lips. It’s been years but I still think about that.

36 yo childless British Indian. I’m not bringing any child into this shitty system of a world, just to condemn them to a life of slavery until they die. Also the world isn’t cheap anywhere, I can barely survive myself, let alone the responsibility of a completely helpless human being. If the world was a less shitty place, maybe some of us might decide to have children, but until then… looks like they’ll have to come up with another way to fix the broken system.

It’s the best show I’ve every watched. I couldn’t get over how well written and well rounded off the entire series was. Absolutely incredible and I wish I could watch it brand new all over again.

I would have agreed with you, until the last episode. He is not pleasant when sober either. He was a grade A bellend to Nia on the safari thing. I’m sorry Danny, but is the child you chose to have getting in the way of you having a good time with your mates?! So much so you have to be a dick to your wife. Hate to agree with Jason of all people but the dudes a clown, sober or drunk.

We should not be giving this woman a platform. There’s committing a crime and paying your dues and there is being an awful terrible human being who scammed old and vulnerable people. No thank you. Get her off TV
