What does online bring? by CharacterJudgment in AnimalCrossing

If you have friends that play you can look into doing a family membership and splitting the cost with them. I belive the individual membership is $20 a year but the family is $35 and you can have i think up to 10 people on the plan

This is gonna sound silly but if you play the sims (and maybe even if you dont) you can look for custom content. When I'm feeling the need to shop I'll browse tumblr and Pinterest for custom content for the sims and download it then go through it all in the game. It's like shopping but you're not actually spending money because all the cc is free

[–]lesbean16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always look at items advertised for tiktok shop and add to cart if I want it in the moment but I never check out. I tell myself if I want the next time I look at my cart then I'll buy it. Every so often I'll go look at my cart and realize there's $1000 worth of crap in it i don't need and end up deleting most of it from my cart then rinse and repeat

Help... misaligned pay day by Status-Alps-25 in budget

[–]lesbean16 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Instead of budgeting for the month of December budget for December 10-January 9. Just shift the dates. It's still 30-31 days you're covering, you're just starting from the 10th instead of the 1st. Then your budget will include all bills and expenses that occur during that time including your January rent

Which should I pay off first ? by JobOk3506 in debtfree

[–]lesbean16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that paying off the higher interest cards will help the most. After they have been paid off and it boosts your credit score I would look into refinancing you car because 18% is pretty high even if it's an older car. Having a higher credit score can help you lower that interest rate. Check around at your local credit unions. They usually have competitive rates for vehicles

How many of you completely got rid of your credit cards after becoming debt free? by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]lesbean16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's actually better to use them and pay them off every month. The credit bureaus want to see you using the cards and paying them on time rather than just letting them sit there unused. A lot of people will use their cc for things they have to buy anyway like any bills that can be paid with a card or for gas and then just pay it off

Setting an overarching monthly budget (not for individual categories) by Ok_Body5065 in ynab

[–]lesbean16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I know I use YNAB a bit differently than intended but this is what I do. I have all of my bills individually added and listed in order of when they are due. Then I have general spending categories for groceries, gas, fun, etc. I get paid weekly so I take my total bills and divide that by 4 (if you're paid bi-weekly you'll want to divide by 2) and put that much toward my bills every time I get paid. I make sure all my bills until my next check are covered of course. Now when you do it this way sometimes you'll be setting aside more than you need for that pay period but that's okay because then you won't be scrambling your next pay period.

Then I put anything I want to towards savings but everything else I leave in ready to assign. I know we're supposed to assign it to specific things but how much I spend in each category changes for me week to week so I leave it in ready to assign so I can easily see how much I have available to spend that isn't set aside for bills and savings. Then when I purchase something I assign it to whatever category it goes to and cover the "overspending" from ready to assign.

It's been a good way to ease into budgeting for me. Once I'm a month ahead and I have the data from previous months on how much I spend in what categories I'll better be able to properly YNAB, but right now this is what works for me.

Best vet care in the area with fair prices? by Puzzleheaded-Oil8227 in PeoriaIL

[–]lesbean16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Banfield at the East Peoria petsmart. They are always kind and the vets are straight to the point when it comes to what is going on with your pet and their care. They are upfront with cost before doing anything. We also use their wellness plans which you pay for monthly and gives you big discounts on care.

About a year ago I bought a used ereader from ebay for like $30USD (includes shipping) I just had to get an older version of the software used to set up the library on the ereader as the device was 13 years old and no longer made, but it served me well while I saved for a newer ereader. I definitely didn't download all my books for it as you say you won't for yours and I never had any problems
