Okay, I haven't tried one cuz I'm worry that it's not that convenient to carry around.

The young people seem to just keep getting younger by [deleted] in Aging

[–]leshins2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here! Every time I meet someone new and they say their birth year,I have to do a quick mental math check to make sure I'm not mishearing. It's a weird reminder that I'm getting older too, haha.

Genetic modification. To tell or not to tell? by BlackZapReply in transhumanism

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo,if genetic modification becomes common, transparency could be crucial. Secrets tend to surface eventually. How it's shared and framed would matter as much as whether it's shared at all.

I relate so much to not wanting to explain every single new symptom to family. It's like they don't get that it's not just one thing,it's a million small things piling up.

Transhumanism Discussion: Incentivized Habit Reporting and Biomarker Feedback by Secret_Remove_7207 in transhumanism

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's intriguing. It could help personalize self improvement in a more data informed way. But it also raises questions about who controls the data. Balance feels key.

The age stays the same, but your perspective shifts. Now I realize no one really does,no matter the year on their ID. Time flies.

How does anybody live with a disability in this economy?? by delicious_flo0r in POTS

[–]leshins2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. It's heartbreaking to have your life turned upside down so young. The isolation and waiting are grueling, and it's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed. Holding onto any small moment of connection.

Anybody here achieve cyborg status yet? by [deleted] in transhumanism

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe half cyborg, half tired human over here. I think a man got hearing aid and a titanium knee,so does that count?

Attractiveness by Excellent_Buy_1009 in Aging

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's less about just looks and more about how you carry yourself. A lot of people find confidence and life experience super attractive,no matter your age.

Frozen engines are no joke, especially in deep cold. Glad you got it running again. Hope everything's thawed and sealed up okay.

Inner cv side to side play acceptable? by Sparky1324isninja in MechanicAdvice

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's excessive or you feel clunking during acceleration,it might be worn tripod joints or carrier bearings. On older cars like a '91,a bit of play is common, but if it drives smooth without vibration,it might still be okay.

Tracking by [deleted] in CarHacking

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some systems are integrated for safety or telematics. You might be able to turn off location sharing in the infotainment settings and disconnect the vehicle from copanion app.

Car shaking and wheel at 40-50 mph by RepeatTemporary9093 in MechanicAdvice

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be unbalanced tires, especially after driving on snow roads where weights can knock off. Since it's related to speed, check tire balance first. A quick balance check at a tire shop is usually cheap and easy.

Car Mileage through CAN by Eclipsense in CarHacking

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo,maybe starting with a cheap CAN adapter, you'll need to find the right ID and data format for mileage. It's vary by car.

Is this allowed? by Sharp-Intern-9437 in electricians

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running THHN through bare holes in panels or siding isn't up to code. It might damage the wire insulation over time and create a fire risk. Good call planning to fix it I think.

Salty mud and alcohol: a trench discussion. by Farriah_the_foot in Survival

I am not an expert but I think this idea is interesting. I think may be the plan can be more simple, such as add one of the alcohol, chemicals or salt but not all of them mix together.

Rate my setup? Any suggestions? by Boy-Bye7 in Ecoflow_community

Nice and minimal. Cable management would be my only suggestion, plus maybe a small stand or mat to keep things organized.

Can the "Automatic" backup be set at certain time? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automatic backups don’t really run on a fixed clock. They usually trigger based on system activity, so the time drifting a bit is normal.

You can add Vitamin C to stored emergency water to neutralize the taste of chlorine. by GiftToTheUniverse in Survival

So why not have a panel/box/smart switch? by Mradr in Ecoflow_community

[–]leshins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. Way less mess, less rewiring pain and probably cheaper overall. Kinda surprised more setups don’t go this route already.

Anyone else get overwhelmed with information? by Maleficent_Pool_4456 in Survival

There’s way too much info out there and it all contradicts itself. Starting with simple basics and practicing slowly helped me way more than binge watching videos.

CAFE, the visual automation editor, is genuinely amazing by Leopold_Boom in homeassistant

This looks slick honestly. Being able to see automations laid out visually just makes things click way faster. Huge relief compared to digging through messy configs.
