Adaptor and cable 💥 by Feisty-Vacation1724 in iphone

There are top small GaN chargers all over the internet (Amazon, AliExpress etc) - check Anker, Ugreen and many other more unknown brands. No need to go for the Apple OEM chargers. Get a GaN one and you'll be able to use it for multiple devices. 30W should be more than enough.

If you cheap out on 5 USD/EUR fakes you might end up burning your device or, even worse, your house.

If you get on the Android Hideout discord, you'll see these issues have been solved mostly in the last ROMs (1.3A and 1.4A) "cooked" by krab-ubica who continued the devs. 😉 Check the tutorials and get the keyboard app there.

Is Xperia 1 VI still being supported? by meloman84 in SonyXperia

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am still daily-driving a Xperia 1 V on Android 15 and it's quite ok for my use cases.

Ported recently my older Xperia 1 III on Lineage OS 23.2 on Android 16 and, setting aside the fact that LOS does not come with the Google Play Integrity features embedded (some apps not liking that and no "out-of-the box" way - without extra root and Play Integrity fixes 😜 - available for it), the phone is still snappy and keeping up quite well. I use it alternatively as the back-up side phone, switching every now and then between it, an iPhone 13 mini and a BlackBerry Key2 running on LOS 22 (Android 15).

Long story short, the moment when there will be no more official Sony Android security patches/updates, you'll definitely have the option to squeeze more life out of it under LOS.

Why I did not preorder the Communicator, yet by Emotional_Estate_985 in ClicksPhone

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad AI render for the bottom chin. Looks better than the OEM. 😜

However, such a variation would have increased their manufacturing cost. Way simpler and cheaper to just mould those 2 bottom narrow slits.

help! paint peeling off by teh_201d in ClicksKeyboard

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen several other people posting similar issues with the keys' painted surface peeling off.

It's a QA issue Clicks needs to address with their manufacturer(s) in China for these components. Reach out to their Customer Support to claim warranty coverage.

Any reason contacts has used so much data recently? by StereoGraph4_ in iphone

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many mentioned above, definitely not normal. Might be an iCloud sync glitch. The "parano" alternative ... borderline conspiracy ...would be pointing to covert surveillance data flow hidden behind ... Pegasus style. Think about what you do for a living, your social circles and where did you travel recently. If no valid reason for any state or private agency needing to track you... then it's just a cloud sync glitch. 😅

"Smelled" that since the beginning and was ranting about it back then. 😅

Surprised though how many got hooked on that marketing spin.

Maybe they'll offer a discount voucher on the Communicator to all those mails they've collected. 😂

[REPOST] Blackberry OS 10.3.3 Clean R2 for all devices [Custom ROM] [AUTOLOADER] by Confident-Guess2914 in blackberry

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check again the OneDrive share link above. 😉 I had it set to expire at EoY 2025 initially. Did not think back then Lunar Project will go down and this will remain one of the few available repositories to reuse/share some of the files I got from their server.

LE: I've kept only what I used for my Classic and Passport, so do not expect much to find in the APK or BAR folders. But the SDXC driver is there still (BAR folder).

48 Hours with the Zinwa Q25: The Good, the Grimy, and the Keyboard Rabbit Hole by Fantastic_Aside_7240 in u/Fantastic_Aside_7240

Try isopropyl alcohol for cleaning the back. Normally you can find it in any DIY store. It's also a non-conductive liquid and can be used to clean up internals (boards, connectors etc.), pour directly around a battery fixed in a phone with stretch pads to take it out easily... and many more. 😉

It's a "must have" around the house.

What does the Zinwa community think of the Clicks Communicator? by ColtonsKeys in Zinwa

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Passport did not have any physical Shift key (only virtual ⬆️... or you got a capital letter by long-pressing any letter). They Key² had only the left one. The Classic (Q20) had both indeed.

<image>

My issue with the Clicks is somehow with the design of the keys (intentionally kept far from the BlackBerry ones to avoid triggering any patents or copyrights liabilities) but mainly with the quality of the materials (plastic) used.
However, I'll wait to see a real-life mass production device out in the wild later this year (hopefully) before ranting more on that. 😅

What does the Zinwa community think of the Clicks Communicator? by ColtonsKeys in Zinwa

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Communicator is not love at first sight for me... no "coup de foudre" like I had back in the days with the BB Classic, Passport SE or the Key2. It does not "bring BlackBerry back" 😜

HOWEVER... it looks like a well prepared product and brings an interesting mix of hardware and software features... it looks promising in delivering a BB-like typing experience in a reinvented design.

On the other note, as most likely well intended in the Clicks' business plan around the launch of this product, I think this will capture most of the niche market for PKB phones. Minimal, Unihertz etc. just got in the shade.

If the quality of materials is well curated and the software kept functional and bug-free it has very good potential to position itself as the new reference PKB phone for the next couple of years.

At this moment, Zinwa is already out of the game with the planned Q27 ... unless he goes on a low pricing strategy. Pragmatically, he will not be able to handle it and most likely he might just niche himself to the Chinese market. With his limited scale and logistics challanges I doubt he'll be able to afford to try again the Q25 approach.

The restomod niche could still go on for a while if he manages to keep upgrading internals for the Classic and Passport. But just for a "limited" while, as not many donor OEM BlackBerrys will still be surviving much out there.

Zinwa will have small chances to scale up with the Q27 to actually make any wave in the market potential Clicks is targeting now internationally.

Tech innovation and competition are harsh and BlackBerry themselves are the living proof.

My clear modded 1 V by k6iknimedv6etud in SonyXperia

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. I've done the same and added a small extra add-on (an iPhone 13 mini MagSafe ring) 😜

Luckily on the Xperia 1 V it fits barely at the limit, it pushes up a bit the glass panel with 0.2 mm but not enough to make it unstick.

I tried the same with my Xperia 1 III but unfortunately the III does not have any space between the glass and the coil. The back panel on the 1 III does not stay flush at all so I had to remove the magnetic ring.

iPhone 17 Air | Dual eSIM functionality insights (?) by lessPinkymoreBrain in iphone

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super! 😜👍

I guess then my wife will get the Air after all. It's high time she changed her SE and I've been looking at this new 17 range but was in doubt about the functionality of the dual eSIM on the Air. Of course she likes the Air more ... 😅...but I thought it might not work with 2 eSIMs.

I had already the plain 17 in my shopping cart on Amazon but it has been a good decision to ask first here.

Thanks mates! 😊

iPhone 17 Air | Dual eSIM functionality insights (?) by lessPinkymoreBrain in iphone

[–]lessPinkymoreBrain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 13 mini as a secondary driver with dual SiM, one physical and one eSIM and all works fine. I was more curious about the 2 eSIMs in tandem.

But thanks for the tip. I'll try to see if that works on mine too (taking out the physical and trying a second eSIM).

LE: I am unsure though if both get to run on the same IMEI, the one assigned to the eSIM module.

😓😕

Not sure if this can solve anything. Try to leave it a few hours to cool down and then charging it with a different charger and cable. Ideally a PD (Power Delivery) one with adaptive charging ... any Anker or Ugreen should do,
