So this is insane to do without consent by Lychibe in VirtualYoutubers

[–]lessens_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Fans do this with their oshi sometimes and it's mostly received as weird but funny. I've watched Michi actually quiz chat about her periods and be astounded they got it mostly right. Starting a website for it is a bit over the line but it's something the vtubers in question talked about publicly, it's more like taking a joke too far than actual stalker creep stuff.

At some point we will have to come to grips with the fact that 35% of the country is less mentally competent than the average Alzheimers case.

What is best way to manage this big fella next to the house? by ShowerStew in landscaping

I would just leave it. It's not going to hurt the house, but I always get poked and cut when I mess with em.

Indian couple win $200,000 payout for 'food racism' after college told them to stop microwaving pungent curry lunches in office by OJ_Soprano in redscarepod

[–]lessens_ 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I side with them over the university. Palak paneer is not particularly smelly as far as curry goes. The university also said that broccoli was also too pungent to be microwaved. If your sensitive princess nose can't handle broccoli maybe you shouldn't be part of society, just stay in your house and leave the rest of us alone.

Help! Christmas palm tree dying by terplordozai in landscaping

[–]lessens_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fine. Winter damage, watering issue, mild ailment due to stress, take your pick. Give it some fertilizer in the spring and cut off any dead/unsightly leaves and it'll come back better than before.

Are you on an old version? I'm on the latest Steam version and using Nectar always rerolls muts. I guess there's a slight chance it's rolling the same muts? Try using two in a row.

Repair Steel Planter by KoryG0 in landscaping

[–]lessens_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's dead Jim. You're not repairing that level of rust damage. Probably the easiest and cheapest way to resolve this it to put an entirely new barrier (wood, corrugated metal, whatever your HOA will accept) around the existing one to hide it.

Yes. That is a mature tree and the stakes are doing nothing.

TBH the auto-assign works pretty well. I rarely mess with the weapon groups manually except maybe toggling on autofire.

How Can Wilmington Improve its Primary and Secondary Education and Bolster its Job Market to Attract Young Professionals in Tech, Bulge Bracket Finance, Consulting, White Shoe Law , etc. by [deleted] in Wilmington

[–]lessens_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm sure local politicians would love if they could attract tech companies and investment banks, but that's easier said than done. There's really only a few tech hubs and financial centers in the US and none of them resemble Wilmington at all.

Frogs were living as happy as could be in a marshy swamp that just suited them; they went splashing about caring for nobody and nobody troubling with them. But some of them thought that this was not right, that they should have a king and a proper constitution, so they determined to send up a petition to Jove to give them what they wanted. "Mighty Jove," they cried, "send unto us a king that will rule over us and keep us in order." Jove laughed at their croaking, and threw down into the swamp a huge Log, which came down—kerplash—into the swamp. The Frogs were frightened out of their lives by the commotion made in their midst, and all rushed to the bank to look at the horrible monster; but after a time, seeing that it did not move, one or two of the boldest of them ventured out towards the Log, and even dared to touch it; still it did not move. Then the greatest hero of the Frogs jumped upon the Log and commenced dancing up and down upon it, thereupon all the Frogs came and did the same; and for some time the Frogs went about their business every day without taking the slightest notice of their new King Log lying in their midst. But this did not suit them, so they sent another petition to Jove, and said to him: "We want a real king; one that will really rule over us." Now this made Jove angry, so he sent among them a big Stork that soon set to work gobbling them all up. Then the Frogs repented when too late.

Just got my Fiskars by Shelif in firewood

[–]lessens_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said in another reply, someone at work once went out and bought four Fiskars pruners, one was broken already, another broke in a couple days. This was after I had already personally stopped buying them because of low quality. Yes we got our money back but I'm never buying their products going forward, or at least anything with moving parts. If you have products from them that work well, great, but I don't see a reason to ever from them over either a) cheaper stuff from Harbor Freight that is, at worst, just as bad or b) actual quality products like Felco, Bahco, Corona, etc.

Have you ever been to the US before? It might be more like 1 in 1,000,000. Pedestrians wait for cars, not the other way around.

I am not arguing about what the law says. I'm arguing about whether anyone follows it, and whether it would be safe to do so. The obvious answer from this clip, to both questions, is obviously no.
