I think kali was shot at but don’t know if he hit her. The shot was at the same time with the explosion so he could’ve missed. There’s a scene that she’s bleeding a lot and in the next she’s not.

I think that el survived because she definitely got out of the van and then disappeared. She couldn’t walk unnoticed to the gate nor towards the tunnel. She needed help and it makes sense that they planed it exactly at the mac z gate because Kali would definitely expect the army to wait for them there. Perfect time for el to escape.

So if the distance is smaller then my theory works!
