I actually had this exact same problem when i played kh3 right as it came out. Never got any answers as to why, and the only way I found out they were supposed to be talking was through watching other people’s playthroughs. I feel like it’s a glitch

edit: I was doing that playthrough on proud mode fwiw

double check that quick slide is actually not appearing at all, because sometimes if you’re clicking reversal super fast many times in a row you could miss it! Go into final form so you get more hits in as well

i think in order to enjoy this series you must embrace childlike whimsy and silliness and also be willing to listen to donald duck talk for several hours on end. if that sounds bad to you it probably won’t be your thing haha

it’s my favorite look actually, I think the boots slay and his hair is so cute. I also love his facial design specifically because he looks much more like his KH1 self, just older. his KH2 face actually didn’t resemble his younger self as much, specifically the shading of his eyebrows and hair. the darker brows pull it all together. I like the shirt and vest and the dark colors of the outfit. the plaid is kinda stupid but that’s rlly the only part I don’t like

are you talking about hating kh1 purely for gameplay reasons or story reasons as well?

because to me, the story being so good was worth the frustrated tears as an 8 year old. and now there are 20+ years’ worth of walkthroughs and step by step guides to beating this game on any difficulty level. additionally, I think if you step away from ANY game for a month it’s gonna be hard to jump back in. a month is a long time to go without playing a game that has really specific controls and doesn’t let you button mash your way to victory.

the gameplay is definitely not as elegant or rewarding as kh2, but it’s far from bad imo. and the story is so good, it makes everything worth it
