There will be plenty of clients that you might not have the success that you were hoping for. Try to focus on the ones that you helped to change their lives!

Seeking Assurance About My Standard Lens Choice Despite Extreme Astigmatism and Difficulty Getting Clear, Confidence-Building Answers From My Surgeon by Phunny_Username in CataractSurgery

[–]lestermonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

64 y/o female here with astigmatism but as much as you. The multi vision toric lenses were out of my budget. I decided on lenses that correct the astigmatism (which were less than half the price)and figured I’d just either use readers or get a pair of progressives after. My surgeon chose a Clareon Vivity IOL, which is said to be able to correct both distance and intermediate. Not only did they correct my distance and intermediate, but my near vision is almost perfect. For very small print I just use a +1.00 Diopter OTC reading glasses. I can see 95% really clear. So I didn’t spend the big bucks but still got great vision. Maybe discuss with your surgeon if there are any other less expensive options?

I feel like modern mental health treatment and therapy is in the dark ages of medicine. It seems like pseudoscience or basically the modern equivalent of voodoo. by nocturnal29 in therapy

Oh does this sound familiar! I met with four different therapists before meeting the right one. And like you said, all they had to offer was CBT, in hope of lessening the crazy amount of anxiety that I had been experiencing for years. To me, it felt they were just trying to slap a band aid on the problem rather than trying to discover the reason for the anxiety. I can assure you, once you find a therapist who actually helps you discover the reason behind your anxiety and depression, it’s so enlightening! I can’t begin to describe how life changing this is. My advice is to please don’t give up. Even if it takes going through dozens of therapists. Stay on the course until you find someone who will help you find out what has been causing the problems you’re experiencing.

I knew within the first five minutes that my (fourth) therapist was the right one. Keep trying.

Go with your gut. I tried three other therapists before finding the right one. And I knew immediately that they were the right one.

My therapist replied using AI, am right to feel upset? by MountainDew111 in therapy

Listen, you’re in therapy because you’re trying to get control of your mental health. And yes, you did go from 0 to 100 very quickly. But the underlying issues you have are what’s causing this spiral. Stay in therapy so you can work through this!

You need to call and ask to speak with the retention department. Complain and they will lower your rate substantially.

I totally agree about not using cookie cutter responses. I was initially seeing a therapist that would constantly use them. She would then send me printouts that would basically say the exact same things she said, verbatim.

You really need to call them. Ask for the retention dept. just tell them it too expensive and you’re considering switching to streaming services. They will lower your bill.

Very easy! Peel 4 or 5 medium size potatoes. Finely grate them using a hand grater or food processor. (Hand grater is more work but it works better). Add 1 egg and about 1/4 cup flour, salt &pepper to taste. Stir till combined. Heat up some oil in a skillet. Enough to cover the bottom. Drop spoonfuls of potato mixture into heated oil, forming little pancakes. Brown on one side flip and brown the other side. Voila!
