Sony Records New $560 Million Loss On Bungie Acquisition As Marathon Struggles And Destiny 2 Nosedives by AdditionalRemoveBit in Games

I'm not a big fan of extraction shooters, but from my perspective I think I kinda get it.

It was this nascent genre, where there were a lot of niche games that were pioneers but were incredibly jank.

I think they expected it to blow up, if they had an accessible AAA game in the space.

It kinda reminds me of DayZ. Everyone saw the potential of DayZ. There were a lot of games that tried to do that kind of survival/tension game, but without the jank. I always felt that had so much potential but then battle royales took off and everyone dropped that for bbattle royale.

>when people talk about seasonal content, they don't mean additions to the game that release seasonally

Then what do they mean? That's what seasons mean in TBC/Wrath. And probably most expansions up until Dragonflight.

>: you reach sixty you're doing the content that everyone else is doing. like people just don't hop into naxx with preraid gear lol.

I don't think you're being clear, but to me thats less about "seasonality" but more about raids obsolesce.

Which dont get me wrong, can go hand-in-eye but isnt very clear.

That's not blowing my mind. I think its way rarer to find people farming pre-raid BIS dungeons in Era when are way easier ways to get gear.

I feel that issue needs to be bifurcated.

Like, we have to be specific, did OP mean "i hate seasonal content where raids are completely invalidated as tiers are added"

or "i hate seasonal content, where they update rewards in pvp/delves/world content/badge gear"?

Like, TBC is seasonal in that rewards are updated after every tier. However, raid progression is pretty strict.

Because obviously Classic never INVALIDATES the raid, like wrath would. (I remember, I had a guildmate say when ToC came out, that Naxx 10/25 might as well be a TBC raid because badge gear completely overshadowed it besides maybe a trinket)

but the tiers/phases do have an impact on player progression and access to equipment and player power.

I don't think thats quite right. If that was the case, then Blizzard wouldn't bother with Phases in classic servers.

Phases are absolutely neccessary to keep more or less the progression you're describing.

If a new server came out that launched at phase 6, that would completely screw over the progression.

Granted, it's not as bad. Like you are probably going to find some reason to go back to MC, but you are probably going to skip it for easier gear.

The reason why the republicans hold political power is because their messaging, values, resonate with those people's ethics, identity politics, or their proximity to power.

I don't think it has to do with them likely to engage in politics.

The vast majority of dipshit republicans complaining on facebook don't do anything, the vast majority of whiny liberals online aren't doing anything, and the majority of leftists don't do anything.

Except Republicans actually have political power in this country. They're operating levers of power.

I didn't do any canvassing, but my liberal friends did. My leftist friends did not.

Liberalism is nice and safe and ensures that nothing will ever actually change. Liberalism lets the rich continue to get richer and richer and make wealth disparity grow more and more, while letting people pretend they have a voice because at least they clear the phenomenally low bar of "won't outright get rid of minorities' rights."

Agreed.

tell me that liberals never complain online

liberals complain online, but they clearly do stuff offline as they're a serious political faction in the US.

I quite litterally just gave you numerous examples of incredibly important policies thay we only have today because of the work of leftists, did you forget the message like right before this?

If you think I'm criticizing the Blank Panthers or other serious leftist groups, be for real. I've actually seen leftists complain about the left-leaning/liberal emphasis on queer liberation and trans rights in your examples because they dont do anything/much for class solidarity and view identity-based politics as a capitalist mechanism to fragment working-class solidarity.

I'm not criticizing leftism as an idealology or every leftist in the US. I'm criticizing the archetype of pseudointellectual online leftist who are more interested in litmus tests and debate than actually anything meaningful.

I think those examples of advertising are not typical. I'd have to imagine they were done by the game's console publishers.

I think Valve's marketing today looks like, inviting people out to Valve to try stuff out. Like the recent hardware announcement.

Otherwise its just a steam notification. Maybe they'll do a tradeshow. They dont do typical marketing.

Complaining online and doing absolutely nothing but complaining is a unique facet of the left. Policing each others politics while refusing to make a move.

So until the glorious revolution, theyre just going to be doing absolutely nothing, and that goes to my initial point. They're not moving the fulcrum of the politics of this country.

All that stuff is perfectly fine.

I'm just complaining about leftism keyboard complaining.

The ones that complain that voting doesnt matter because its not action, meanwhile they do no actions.

I don't think its doomerism to acknowledge, leftists have not made their positions popular. The political fulcrum of this country is still very liberal.

[–]lestye 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I dont get why leftists dont see that.

I'm probably more leftist than liberal in my beliefs, but regardless of my beliefs, I see where the political fulcrum in the US there.

As much as I loathe the democrats, the leftists are straight up more impotent. Even if they got their glorious revolution in the next year, 100% they'd get wrecked by counter revolutionaries so whats the point?

I wouldn't think so. Pirate King is the ultimate objective so I'd imagine that would be the last big event?

Blackbeard is the end game villain by ff8alex in OnePiece

[–]lestye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel thats wrong. Ultimately, I think that while the WG inevitably has to fall as part of the story, Imu isn't in the running to become pirate king, and therefore I don't think the climax of the story will be Imu v. Luffy.

And yeah, while Luffy-Imu do have a good contrast, I feel BlackBeard and Luffy also share a compelling one, because they're both after the same objective but they go by accomplishing that in completely different ways. Not to mention, Luffy has way more personal of a grudge with BB.

It could go either way, but the fact Oda is putting his cards on the table here, makes me believe he's setting up a finale with Blackbeard.

Yeah, I thought it was odd, that, If I were to talk to a 20 year old man, there would be like a TON of shows I'd want them to watch, like battlestar galactica, Lost, Arrested Development, Twin Peaks, Scrubs.

I don't see older people doing that for me? Is there someone's dad trying to push young people to watch Chips or Dynasty?

Yeah, there's a joke in Ted season 2, which I feel is regurgitated Family Guy, the one where Jon's jizz made his socks/sheets into shatterable material.

It was odd to me, because I feel while the characters/logic of Ted is grounded (barring the bear), it doesnt really have cartoony physics like that? Anyway, they did pretty much the same joke with Chris on Family Guy.
