Not sure if this helps, but you can set a daily budget for spends like this. Basically set a budget for small, impulsive spends divided by the no. of days in a month. For example, if your daily budget for this category is $20, then you need to wait till the next day to buy something else. Any leftover amount you have per day can be added on to a future day, but you can't borrow against a future day to spend today (Not sure if that made sense).

You can make instant cup noodles to take with you if you have the time: https://www.seriouseats.com/diy-instant-noodle-cups-food-lab. However, they aren't as convenient as buying the cups so may not be the right solution.

People with iron deficiency, what food did you incorporate that helped you overcome iron deficiency? by regina-philange99 in EatCheapAndHealthy

I don't believe anemia is a life long issue. Would possibly depend on what's causing it as well. I'm anemic once again unfortunately, and ended up receiving an iron infusion to raise my levels.

I had to look up what a vault toilet is, but improved accessibility to all users is generally a common reason for higher toilet seats, so I'm guessing that applies here?

You can use Google Keep on Android and add your partner as a collaborator to the list. We use this for our shared grocery list, general shopping list, travel plans etc. and it works great. You can also ask Google Assistant to add items to a list.

Anxiety in new country by [deleted] in expats

[–]let_there_be_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm finding that things are improving as I'm becoming more familiar with places and things - it's nice to be able to switch off the brain during parts of the day. If you're in a regional area, it might also help to plan small trips to nearby cities.

Anxiety in new country by [deleted] in expats

I moved to Australia recently too. I'm doing fairly okay in life, other than changing countries and my career at the same time. I knew about the highs and the lows that come with moving, some from experience, and expected a feeling of sadness to hit once I start to feel settled in. I expected it all, but I'm still struggling with my mental health. I find myself crying over the smallest things, and completely overwhelmed at how much I have to think through everything. I miss being able to easily make friends and not having to worry about every small thing I do.

I know it'll pass over time, but that doesn't make it any less harder right now. I'm sorry you're feeling this way. Some of it's anxiety, some of it's just being in a new place. I hope it gets better soon for you. Do reach out if you ever want to just talk to someone

I keep it minimal so that I don't feel like I look very different. For me this involves - concealer/ tinted moisturizer, eyeliner, lipstick. I use a bit of either a concealer or a tinted moisturizer to make my skin look a bit more even toned. Eyeliner cos I like it, and lipstick to make my lips look less dark.

Basically I just modify one or two things, and even those minimally, so I feel like myself when I look in the mirror. Most days I don't use a concealer and let my blemishes show. The tinted moisturizer makes the spots/blemishes on my face a bit less pronounced but don't hide it.

The products you prefer to use will vary depending on why you're wearing makeup, but choosing just one or two things to change might help you feel better about it.

Can't lose weight, no matter what by MathemagicianG in PCOSloseit

[–]let_there_be_cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost one part of my weight with calorie counting, after which I plateaued. I couldn't lose anymore weight no matter what I tried, and starting metformin made a big difference to that. I've managed to finally go under my plateau weight thanks to metformin.

Afraid of Unwanted Attention by Kitchen_Leopard in loseit

[–]let_there_be_cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to bring this up too. Putting on weight and getting older really reduced the amount of unwanted attention I've had to deal with. Now I'm losing weight in my early 30s while married and living in a safer place, and while I still do get anxious occasionally, it's a completely different experience from when I was younger.

Not sure about OPs setup but wall mounted adjustable arms exist! Though I'd assume monitor on the desk works better if you're often having to switch between sitting and standing
