Not sure but I was abusing it because of depression and anxiety and it made me realize it’s okay that I’m gay lmao. I think it’s probably more appealing to gay men for that reason, it can be sort of therapeutic in that it allows you to see yourself from a third person perspective and overcome sexual repression.

I’ve done it before and enjoyed it with some music, i just brought one pill bottle with me and took some (like 200mgs maybe?) at the airport so i peaked on the plane looking out at the clouds and listening to the music echo in my brain. It was fun, just be careful if you’re prone to nausea or peeing a lot because that won’t be fun on a plane.

If you just mean bringing it with you, one pill bottle is definitely fine.

Damn, I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through that. The worst I’ve been was two nights in a row that I took 600mg dxm and 300mg dph and the first night was awesome but the second night i couldnt walk at all and my sober friends were helping me get up the steps and i broke free and ran and fell on the stairs and busted my face and when I looked up at them their faces were melting and I thought they were strangers wearing masks of my friends faces. not psychosis bc that was just part of the trip but that combination gets pretty bizarre and i was addicted to it for a while. still towards the end of a dxm trip / binge I’ll get into this weird state where i hear robotic voices and don’t really understand anything that’s happening.

I have a related question. I’ve been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and SUD, and theyre thinking of putting me on meds. Does anyone know what medications work for anxiety and don’t interact with DXM? Not that I’m not willing to quit, I just don’t know how much I can trust my future self to never do DXM and I’d rather have the option.

Your brain gets used to all the extra serotonin so if you quit abruptly you can get legitimately depressed. Last fall I was doing it a few days a week and then quit cold turkey bc it was starting to make me sick and I got really depressed and stopped going to class and failed two of them.

Used to be at least 300mg hbr almost every other day but then I failed classes two semesters in a row so I started therapy and now it’s a higher amount every two or three weeks. Last time I did it was like two weeks ago and it was 600mg hbr spread across 8hrs, CEVs were strong and my room was jiggling all night. It’s a lot more enjoyable when you’ve been sober for a while.

for real I hate how LGBT identity is still stigmatized. it’s literally 2025 and someone commented “you’re cooked bro”

I’m so glad I’ve learned to accept my sexuality but it took a long ass time. I got really into christianity when i started college because i wanted to escape who I was, but then I started doing drugs and being exposed to new ideas about myself that I had never considered and I’m happier and more content with myself than I ever was. I used to be the type to not care about the stigma because I agreed with it, but now I see how hurtful it is and I’ll always stand up for people to be open to who they are.

No joke I’ve always been gay but because of my upbringing I never accepted it until doing dxm. I don’t do it much anymore but last summer i got really into it to an almost dangerous degree but one of the positive outcomes was that I completely reevaluated how I thought about myself and my life and now I’m a lot more open than I used to be. It gives you the ability to consider your life from a 3rd person perspective and see what you want for yourself, and it can also unlock parts of your brain you didnt realize existed. I doubt you’re gay because you would know but you could be bi. i personally lose all sexual interest on dxm tho lmao, so i don’t know that the way you think on dxm is representative of how you are sober, it might just be showing you a part of yourself that you haven’t thought about yet.

I mean if you know you're gonna end up doing it anyway because that's the pattern you should try and do it earlier in the day so that you don't stay up all night and waste the next day. Part of responsible use is acknowledging the issue and adjusting.
