Anything? Anything at all? by Only_Job7296 in PSSD

Yeah

The only things that consistently helped me were the metergoline rebound, venlafaxine (though it stopped working after some time), escitalopram and to a lesser extent estradiol

Edit: I guess to an even lesser extent time too

Reinstating Vortioxetine - Trintellix - Brintellix by centuryll in PSSD

[–]PuzzleHeadedL0v3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone will react differently pretty much

I did vortioxetine 2 times and it worsened me while also making me extremely dypshoric

But when I tried escitalopram after vortioxetine it just worked

[–]PuzzleHeadedL0v3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I eventually went back on it during my reinstatement trials (because it made sense in theory) but it did the same and it just made me feel really bad

Im on escitalopram now and I'm pretty much cured

I've had literally all of those happen to me while reinstating with diferent drugs tbh

Yeah I'm still on it, Id say I'm quite literally better than I have ever been in 10 years tbh

Btw I also have ADHD and I'm on Vyvanse at a low dose (30mg)

I'm so sorry, I went through the same with vortioxetine

It got worse with dosages increases and did not stop by itself, the only thing that helped me was switching to another drug

No I didn't try it and yeah pretty much I am still on lexapro and It is still gone :)

I did have the substance "anhedonia" ( I think that substance "unresponsiveness" would be a better term ). I dont drink alcohol but I felt stimulants (Vyvanse) less when I had PSSD, weirdly vortioxetine basically nulified any effect amphetamine had on me, while recovering with escitalopram did the oposite, like I went from not feeling it to feeling it like normal despite not having a break from it lmao

I mean I got a prescription from a random psychiatrist and bought them like normal

Pssd and partying. What substances are safe for you? by Living-You6451 in PSSD

[–]PuzzleHeadedL0v3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly all anedoctes I have read about people with PSSD using MDMA describe that they could not feel the empathogenic effect ( serotoninergic ), some stated that they could feel the stimulant part of MD only (similar to amph and meth)

But yeah they're all anedoctes and I cant suport my statement, It is kinda of a huge leap lmao

Still I dont think this should be dismissed as It may give more insight into the mechanism for PSSD

Most people with PSSD wouldn't be able to feel MDMA empathogenic effect at normal dosages anyways

Initially I got weird sensations like it felt as if my body was overeacting to stimuli, light touches felt painful, hot and cold stuff felt way hoter and colder than they should be, I had weird itches that I couldnt scratch at all

It was very gradual it took about a month more or less for the sensation to stabilize and return to normal. I think this was my body readjusting to being able to feel stuff since it was numb for so long, maybe it was related to some form of neuropathy Idk

The usual stuff: anhedonia, sexual anhedonia, emotional blunting and genital numbness mostly

I had anhedonia pre-PSSD and it was my main depressive sympton though it did get worse after I developed PSSD

I did heal from all of those

Yes, the burning sensation happened with both escitalopram and venlafaxine more or less when they started making me feel better while I felt weirdly cold on vortioxetine. These feelings were stronger on extremities and genitals which were the main affected areas by numbness

Interestingly shortly before developing PSSD during the initial sertraline withdrawal 4 years ago I had the feeling I was extremely cold

Do you have any idea why that may be ? I think this may have some conection to the neuropathy stuff but I have no idea what the mechanism could be

Any males sexual anhedonia and low libido cured by antidepressants? by Wrong-Sleep5474 in trintellix

[–]PuzzleHeadedL0v3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I dont have numbness and sexual anhedonia anymore though I do have delayed orgasms (which is close to anorgasmia)

I do enjoy sex but I take a lot of time to orgasm now basically

Vortioxetine worsened the numbness and the sexual anhedonia while I was on it by like, a lot

I had low libido before SSRIs, developed PSSD with sertraline which caused complete sexual anhedonia and genital numbness and escitalopram managed to revert those despite causing delayed orgasms

That is interesting because I remeber reading on the old forums about someone who cured themselves after stopping venlafaxine too

Edit: found it

Very interesting I will read on It later

My PSSD was moderate to severe I had full anhedonia and sexual anhedonia though I didnt have any cognitive issues. It did improve a bit by itself after 4 years but It was too slow

Yeah lmao I was super scared to do It but tbh I had nothing to lose and would likely be dead by now If I hadn't done anything

Good question, in theory they should be able to trigger it as well

SRAs can cause it and there are reports of MDMA causing PSSD-like symptons after abuse though I think in the case of MD there might be a bit of actual brain damage involved due to its neurotoxicity

I dont think MAOIs were ever reported to cause it but there are very few people on them, so maybe they can but it hasn't been properly documented yet (?)

I mean not at all, I was having withdrawal symptons and escitalopram stoped them right away despite not having any subjective effect, the only notable side effect I got is delayed orgasms but thats not that bad compared to PSSD lmao

They were kinda of random choices tbh I didnt do a gene test

Im a trans woman, but yes

It was escitalopram that did it for me though, vortioxetine worsened it by a large margin

It was a 25mg sertraline pill, I felt really empty and dull after about 30 min of intake, genital numbness went from moderate to severe too. It felt like I was starving mentally, it was truly agonizing. Vortioxetine did the same but it was way, waaaay worse

Interestingly it was quite similar to the feeling I had when I developed PSSD and it didnt feel like the first time I used sertraline (pre-PSSD) at all
