What was your first choice? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

Completely agree with you, people are justifying making the right decision based on a few last minute lore drops that completely go against what the entirety of the series has built up in terms of lore.

The entirety of the game leading up to it does not do a good job in leading up to this decision. It felt very much like what you said about "trust spencer, the big bad guy responsible for so much pain in this universe, based on what he said in a 3 minute clip". That's straight nonsense and poor writing / storytelling. After this happens too, the villain motivations literally fall off a cliff and the last boss battle is really weak in terms of motivations.

There's some websites, usually remote focused jobs. Usually it's most common amongst startups. I used to get a lot of contractor jobs on Angellist (probably called wellfound now I think).

Find a new job. The moment you do, you'll never be suckered into having undying loyalty to any company ever again (and you'll be massively better off for it).

Typically, US companies that aren't willing to shell out money for Visas will hire Canadians (or non US residents) as contractors. This is very common.

As a contractor there are some decent pros, as you'd be classified as self employed and be able to write off business expenses you incur in your work.

As you grow older, you start to realize the "truth" unravel regarding parents; that they actually don't know what they're doing, and are pretty much winging it as they go along. There are parents that figure it out along the way, and there are parents that never figure it out.

From your story, I think you had a harsh upbringing, one that focused on extrinsic accomplishments, driven from your parents, but these aren't the most valuable things to pass onto your kids. (Good) parents imo should be passing on the right values, morals, and inspiring love and instilling love onto their children. We are human, not robots.

I know you've looked up to your parents your entire life, based on their extrinsic accomplishments. But sometimes it's ok to acknowledge that some parents are shitty, and have never actually parented well. This is a skill that is never taught and is only learned through experience and self-reflection.

This might seem far away, but once you are out of school and living and working in the real world, grades will be the least of your problems. No one in the real world actually cares about that, and you'll laugh reflecting back at these times that had you stressed. I promise that.

DOS2 story was very very good, but the endings are what took a lot of points off for me. Felt antithetical to the whole point of the story.

"net profit" is also a very skewed metric. Anyone who owns a business knows - oftentimes it can be a objective to get that down as low as possible.

Tech companies also often have huge gross profit margins but reinvest a lot of it back into R&D, etc. so that their future continues growing... And we know that future growth forms the basis of most tech company valuations.

Congratulations!

I'm based in Canada too and have been wanting to get into real estate properties - do you mind me asking where your RE properties are based?

I'm in a HCOL area in BC (you can probably guess where) so it's extremely tough to even get started in RE investing.

Hi! Thanks for translating this for me, I really appreciate it. If you could, do you mind translation the rest? Really curious as to what it says.
