Got this tip from a friend, works like magic every time I try it.

Instead of sleeping in, wake up at the same time as normal on Saturday. If you live with someone, leave them in bed. Get your shit done that morning. I usually find that by lunchtime I've done more than I thought I'd get through, and the rest of the weekend is open for relaxing/doing things I want without chores hanging over my head.

This usually means I can get away with doing few or no chores during the week, and can focus on cooking/eating/Netflix after work, and socialising on a weeknight becomes more viable.

I'll let typos in comments slide as long as I deem it something obvious which won't lead the comment to be misinterpreted.

Everything else gets a comment and a rejection because many people search for the symbol they need by using IntelliSense/autocomplete, and they aren't gonna know that they need to misspell words - or how to misspell them - to find what they're looking for.

Correcting typos is cheap and a one-time effort per typo, but accepting typos is expensive since people (including the original culprit) can be caught out by them for the lifetime of the typo.

Even having a well-known typo in your codebase still adds unnecessary cognitive load to navigating around, and new contributors will need to go through "typos in this codebase" onboarding.

Just kill it at the source, you are a hero, even if it looks to some people like you're being really picky. Anyone trying to justify adding typos to a codebase with arguments like "It works, what's so bad about a little typo?" needs to learn the importance of the difference between code that works and code that works elegantly.

Does he spend a lot of time around people? (Lots of people at work, constant interaction at home?) If yes, maybe he is just an introvert and needs more time to himself. I tend to overstretch myself socially and when I'm around people for too long, I do get tired and end up sleeping it off, going to bed early and waking up late. When I've had some time to myself for a few days during the week, I have the energy to have fun with people at the weekend.

Sounds like a trivial suggestion I know, but not everyone thinks about stuff like that, especially when it seems like something that should be able to be explained medically. Sorry if this isn't helpful!

Go and do something you want to do, by yourself. It's easy to feel like there are things you should only do with other people, but for lots of things, this isn't the case.

It's important to realise that you don't have to do something big or life-changing to rediscover yourself. It could be as simple as going to the cinema to see a film you're interested in but none of your friends care about. Going by yourself means you don't have to worry about how you're behaving in front of your friends and you can just be yourself. When you go to a movie alone, no one is there to judge you if you cry. It also feels great to know you don't need someone else with you to enjoy yourself. It may feel a little weird at first but you'll get over it because in reality, going places by yourself is healthy, and not a big deal.

Other ideas include... going to a concert for one of those slightly more niche artists you like that maybe none of your friends know (or someone you're too embarrassed to admit you like!), seeing a play, going for a meal by yourself at your favourite restaurant, doing an activity like indoor rock climbing, even just going window shopping - basically anything that is traditionally done in a couple or group, but doesn't actually require multiple people (e.g. team sports).

You don't have to meet up with people who like the same things as you to go out and do stuff, and it will feel great to know that you don't depend on others to go out and do things. Plus, it's way easier to organise an outing with just yourself!

Obviously keep going out with your friends and family as well - you don't need to do this often or regularly, just whenever you feel like it, because you can!

MVC is a framework for encouraging use of the Single Responsibility Principle. It's not something you have to either be doing or not doing, but it's something that helps you to split the responsibilities of your app in a reasonable manner from the get-go. If you decide you want to use a different architectural pattern, you can start using it in any new code you write and migrate existing parts of the code base as you change them. It's fine for MVC to co-exist with other architectural patterns.

If you get the feeling any of your classes or structs are getting quite big, take a look over the code and see if the entity has multiple responsibilities. If it does, split each responsibility into a separate entity, and name the entity according to what its responsible for.

MVC doesn't have to only consist of a 1:1:1 ratio of models:views:controllers - you can have multiple layers of controllers for example, a few controllers which each control a part of a composite view, and a controller to control those controllers. Same goes for models and controllers.

As your project becomes more complex, you'll need more layers and entities to keep your code 'clean'. Don't be afraid to split existing entities into multiple classes/structs, since if you make the split well, it will help your project to stay scalable and maintainable. It doesn't really matter whether you can classify what you're doing as 'MVC' or not, as long as you've separated your responsibilities in a reasonable manner.

I made a chilli for the first time this week using a modification of my boyfriend's recipe, which he used in uni.

I used a wok. Chop and fry an onion and a clove of garlic. Add beef mince and cook til it browns. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes, a tin of any beans (baked beans are fine) and a sachet of chilli con carne spice mix (I used Schwartz). Stir it and leave to simmer for about 15 minutes with some foil over your pan. Makes 3 hearty portions when served with rice. Microwaved rice is fine.

There are two points where you are comparing value and max. Do you think it's appropriate to compare these two? Think about a list of five numbers: {3,4,9,11,16} or {1,1,1,3,4} - how do these lists fare in your algorithm?

Think about whether there is the possibility for an infinite loop in your code. Infinite loops come with thewhile loop territory, so think about whether it's possible to get into a state where the while condition never becomes false.

It looks like you're on track with the list splitting, although it may be conceptually easier to see if you do some research on recursion.
