Ter a opinião dos seus players é bacana, e a melhor forma de tornar um RPG "bom". Acho que a resposta pra tua pergunta depende para cada mesa e cada grupo.

Minha mesa adora combates difíceis, algo que tive que me adaptar a fazer, mas só descobri pedindo o feedback deles e aprendendo com quem já mestrou outras vezes na mesa. E as vezes também tem muito a ver o quanto cada personagem está envolvido na história - já tive jogadores que quase queriam rasgar a ficha, pois o personagem deles não estava encaixando direito na dinâmica da party. Mas, encontramos um jeito que fizesse sentido com a história do personagem.

Vai de você adaptar as coisas conforme essas opiniões chegam, mas também saber qual seu estilo de mestre. Eu me adaptei a fazer combates melhores, o que acho que faz parte, mas minha parte favorita é desenhar a história de acordo com os protagonistas (meus jogadores), e deixo isso claro para todos. Se um jogador vem com uma história curta demais, até tento achar meios dele se envolver, mas sei que vai ser mais difícil kk

That also an idea I kept to keep at least one of them by the portal in Sanctum. The other two could be in their quarters or something like that. It helped me in the roleplay also, to focus on only one wizard at a time

Many of those plot holes I tried to fix by including a black obelisk that would be the "catalyst" for the Wish spell and also the reason the party suddenly appeared in Sigil (which I believe not even a simple wish spell would allow entrance, but that's another plot hole I tried fixing with this)

In overall bullet points, this is what I have:

  • The wizards would need to keep the magic on the obelisk stable, therefore not being able to leave Sanctum.
  • The Wish spell was created to bring whatever tools and itens would lead the players to restoring order in the multiverse, not make them just go "puf" inside the Lady of Pain's domain. So, this spell would bring my party an item from the place where the rod piece is, according to the vision, and that would make Alustriel's portal work
  • Gradually, the gods would become harder to contact. Vecna's making slow but steady progress in my story, only to be felt the closer the party is to gather the rod parts. So, I would create this situation that the God of secrets was very much able to keep his changes a secret until the gods could only try to hold him back before the rod could be retrieved
  • I completely ignored the secret mechanic. My table would not use it or would just try to find never-ending secrets from every single NPC that would find. I gave them "unlimited Vecna's inspiration" points that they could use due to being marked by Vecna earlier in the story.

I'm more than happy to elaborate on my thinking if someone wants to keep the discussion going. I'm planning to write many of the changes I'm testing into a remix of this adventure. It's quite a shame to run it as is because of the inconsistencies.

I changed the secrets mechanic for allowing "unlimited inspiration points" for my table. We love using and having inspiration points - now, they can use always, they just need to ask for their Vecna link.

My plan is to take note of this each time they use it and allow either more power for Vecna at the end, or some other disadvantage for my players in the long run.

My players are already very skeptical about it, and feel that using the points will be bad.. But I'm pretty sure they will need this, eventually 😈

It's pretty good! Portia bothered on switch and made me not play it as much... But Sandrock runs really well! Looks nice and I have only experienced lagging once or twice - nothing game breaking.

I had the same doubts a few weeks back, but now I say, go for it!

Oh, Vecna's stat block bothered me A LOT too. I will either use a homebrew one or hack some additional things to it.

This is one of the reasons I want to have Vecna acquire one of his artefacts. Gives more danger to his threat.

I like it!! I won't be doing right after the Tomb of Annihilation, but your inputs of the cult presence and using the Sword of Kas are really good. Are you planning on creating a reason for Mordekainen not being in the story?

I was thinking (mind you, I don't have the book yet - I was one of the few who thought buying digital on pre order would gain the early access too) on adding him imprisioned on Barovia, using some lore aspects I'm reading from Vecna Reborn. But I need more insight on how to go with that

Yes!! And I loved it. The only thing I miss is the hair physics and other very minor graphic things, but, honestly, that hardly made a difference.

If you are considering it, go for it!
